Early 2000s Southeast Strains

Does anyone from the southeast in the 2002-2008 era remember strains like Wonderberry, Shiva, Hawaiian Sativa, Super Silver Haze, and Bubblegum? I was reflecting back on some of the flower and genetics I had in 05-08ish and these strains were some of my favorites. I know most of the stuff I got from friends in that era was hydroponically grown. I will upload some pics from back in the day when I get a chance. Please chime in if you remember any gem strains from that era!

Yeah man I’m from that area and kind of remember it being a little earlier like late 90s up until 2005 range but regardless there was plenty of dank floating around if you knew the right person or willing to pay premium prices. My old neighbor down the street growing up had a sister who’s boyfriend always brought big name strains into town pretty regularly and seemed hydro or def indoor grown. He was from ATL and as you know it’s a city known for great herb

Agreed. It was late 90s-2000s when I first saw bubblegum and blueberry. This was a game changer from the brick weed that was everywhere.

There was plenty of 25/g pricing back in the day for headies but usually in the 60/eighth ballpark…damn that cost you an arm and a leg haha but I would always pay more for good herb instead of being stuck with beasters

Yeah it was definitely a “treat yourself” rare occasion kind of scenario :grin::rofl:

Funny thing is the normal hookup couldn’t even get it. I was getting from a manager at a local bank in Montgomery back then :joy::joy::joy::joy:. Definitely not the guy you would think would have the good stuff back then.

That wasn’t just the southeast we were getting the same genre of strains in the NE at the same time period. Tons of Blueberry Hybrids during that time man I loved it. That and we used to get a ton of no named stanky stuff. Normally was just called exotics or Cali shit but it was basically Skunk

Funny because I had someone I’d get it from that also worked at a bank

I grew some bubblegum in 2009. My neighbor gave me the seeds he found in some dispensary bud. I rolled an oz super joint and smoked everybody out on 4th of July :tada:

Good times

I was in NJ right outside of Philly and only a few hours south of NYC so we had a lot of really good strains come through my area but by the time it got to my area it had 30 names already lol

Haha I bet with everyone picking the top buds but prob plenty of dank in the northeast. Purps which were mostly GDP hit the scene shortly after and took over which was exciting except price gauging

Before the Cali take over we had a lot of Canadian stuff coming around that probably didn’t make it to the Deep South as much. That was always some fuego too

Oh yeah def did but it was beasters 24/7 haha from turds keifing the hell out of buds then selling as beasters…I started a thread a while back on the topic. Absolutely garbage no terps or frost but looked somewhat decent. That reminds me of good so called mid grade around 25 years ago with a few seeds but much better than average kind of bc bud
