Gonna be keeping a journal here of stuff I got going on. Mostly gonna be running bodhi gear for the time being looking for moms. I might dabble in making some F2s in the future.
Right now I’m looking for moms. The goal is to find 3 maybe 4 that finish in 8-10 weeks and have decent harvest/press yield. I’m shooting for 2.5lb/light when dialed in and around 15% minimum yield on the press. Basically around 6 oz pressed flower rosin all said and done is the target.
No idea how long they’ve been vegging cause I forgot when I cloned/planted them. Probably 3 or 4 weeks at this point is my best guess. I topped all of them once and some of them a second time. Likely I will finish topping the rest by Friday and then may end up flipping them this weekend when I top them or a week from today, depends how they look.
The most promising of the bunch in my opinion is the CA X LL #1. I really like the structure and how vigorous it’s been so far.
Next round will be Mother’s Hashplant and Joy Stick. The plan is to pop them this week so I have enough time to veg them out and determine the sex before the next run.

Likely I will stop hunting when I reach my goal and save whatever packs I have left for the future when I have more time and potentially space to dabble in breeding.
Got around to planting the Mothers Milk HP and Joy stick. The plan is to try to scale things up a bit now that I have more space so I ended up popping 2 packs each. Ended up with 24 of 26 of the MMHP and 18 of 22 of the joysticks. Ideally, I’m hoping to end up with around 20 females that I can start cloning from by the time the current grows I got going on finish up.
In regards to the current grow, the dragonnade mom ended up being a dad so rip to that one. Was on the fence from the preflowers when I cloned it but it was balls when they developed more. I also eliminated one dragon’s milk mom and one CAxLL mom each cause I wasn’t really liking how slow they ended up vegging.
Flipped the remaining six that are left. This is them on day 8:
CA x LL #1 (Bottom left corner) is still overall my favorite. Really has that nice and stout afghani structure without getting too bushy like the other 2 are. Definitely the most vigorous of the 3.
The other that seems promising is the Rainbow Serpent (top left). It hasn’t even been a week but the stems on that one are sticky as hell haha. My fingers felt like I was packing a bowl just from bending some of the stems over. Only downside for me is the node spacing and its looking like it might be a stretcher.
The mothers milk looks alright, nothing too special so far. Not sure I really like the nose on them either, both smell like straight up soap lol.
Probably gonna update in a 2 or 3 weeks again after they finish stretching.
Nice lineup! Rainbow serpent is a cool one, I remember one review called it hawaiian punch in a hot tub with sweaty viking armpit . The dragonsoul mom is underrated, I grew out a cut of dragon hammer (dragonsoul x afpak) from doc d and its a nice one - limey gassy kush with a nice hybrid buzz.
All three Caramel Afghani x Lavender Lemonades ended up herming so I ended up tossing them. Rip .
I’m leaning towards genetics being the cause. My environment was where it should have been vpd wise be and my rootzone EC was at 4 according to my TDS sensors when I saw the first signs of balls. It couldn’t have been stress imo. I also hadn’t done any training yet.The plants looked great so it’s kinda disappointing but I can’t complain cause they were free seeds .
So now we have 3 haha. We’ll see what happens. Bad luck this time around but it’s a good opportunity to stress test the remaining to fill out the tent.
I’m looking forward to Dragon’s Milk No. 8 (front left) out of what’s left. Smells the most out of all of them, almost exactly like dish soap. Also happens to have the bleeder trait.
For DM #2 I ended up culling the mom as I mentioned in my last post and I’m on the fence about doing the same with the Rainbow Serpent (big one on the right). It really grows like a snake . The things all over the place and idk if I want to manage 3 or 4 of these in a tent at once. We’ll see how it comes out.
On the flip side, the next round of plants are doing well. Ended up having to up their feed a little bit cause they were looking hungry but they’re starting to thrive now. Gonna repot them in a week or so. I have two or three of the Mothers milk HP that are runts so I might toss depending on how they react to more food. Hopefully some of them will get to a point where I can start topping them in the next week or so. I’m gonna try to clone as many as I can so I can toss them in a small tent with 12/12 lighting to speed up the sexing process.
Also unrelated but I will also be growing out another tent with a few clones from the dragon’s blood hashplant I grew out in my last run. I gave a few clones away to some friends before I tossed the mom and I still had 3 left over. I figured I’d run them now that I have space haha
I started them a week after the hunt so theyre coming up on their 3rd week soon. They’ll likely be at least 13 weeks total to finish but will have some massive chonkers. Smells and tastes like a Christmas candle too even if it’s a little late for the season.
I ended up pushing them a little too hard over weeks 3-4 so they got a little burned but they seem to have bounced back well. They’re really starting to bulk up now, noticeably larger every day. Looking forward to the next few weeks
I think based on the way these are looking I wouldn’t be surprised if I harvest the dragon’s milks around day 56 or a little after. The Rainbow Serpent seems like its gonna be at least 9 weeks.
Topped and started clones for about 2/3 of the next run.
Gonna try and get the remaining 1/3 done in a day or two.
There’s 35 plants in total now, 18 of the Mother’s Milk HP and 17 of the joy stick.
Likely I’m gonna veg what survives for 2 weeks and then put them in 12/12. Take clones of what didn’t survive until I get them all rooted. That way I can stagger them out a little bit and give the Dragon’s blood hps time to finish up in the 4x4 tent. Won’t be for at least 7-9 weeks based on how it went the last run.
I’m also debating if I just want to just stick them in small pots and let them grow under 12/12 until I can tell the sex. By the time the DBHP finishes up I’ll likely be able to get them all cloned and sexed. It would be nice to start everything at the same time as well or even run the Dragon’s Milk again in the smaller tent. We’ll see how things turn out in the next 2 weeks.
Both the Dragon’s Milks are very close. Took a test nug from each of them to try out in 2 or 3 days. Based on how they’re looking and how the testers are I might chop around day 60.
Harvested DM#2 today. I think it’s day 59 or 60 can’t remember. Decided to trim it wet. Had tons of sugar leaves so I’m sure I’ll be able to make some decent dry sift even though the yield wasn’t all that much. I’d guess a qp at most when dry
Now that it’s isolated it smells like basil and mint with a passion fruit or citrus funk to it. The rainbow Serpent has a similar nose now that it’s finishing up but it’s way more pungent than both the Dragons milk. Borderline offensive
Got to try a little hash from the my snips while I was trimming and it’s a pretty balanced high. A little bit of body but overall pretty uplifting. Excited for it to finish up drying so I can send it through the press.
The bud structure is pretty sativa. Kinda airy but the weight still doesn’t seem too bad. Smells really great, very floral with a hint of that soap smell. Not really getting as much citrus anymore or at least as much as the other pheno. The yield is definitely more with this one and I think it could have more potential if I stack the ec better during the stretch.
Tried some of the trim hash in my vape and the high’s also very similar to the other one, maybe a bit more body than head. Can’t wait to press them both out.
Gonna cut the Rainbow Serpent in the next few days. Tomorrow is day 63. Honestly looks fire and yielded pretty well. Just way to floppy for my taste haha. Terps are wild on this one. And it’s developed this cool pale purple coloring on the tips of the buds.
Honestly I’ve been very happy with all the “blood” crosses that bodhi has dropped. A lot of potential in them.
Also here’s an update about the joy stick/mother’s Milk HP project. The clones I made ended up dying cause it got way super cold and dry the week I took them. They all just dried up and died in the trays .
I’ve been able so slowly cull out the males as their pre-flowers formed. The joy stick’s have developed much faster so it’s been easier to go through them. Gonna get a tally tonight or tomorrow when I start pruning them and maybe take a few clones.
I’ll update this post later with some pics and more info later.
I have 19 left. 8 of the Joy Stick and 11 of the Mother Milk HP. Of the 9 of the Joy Sticks I tossed most were males with the exception of 1 or 2 that just weren’t all that vigorous. Of the 7 MM HP 2 or 3 were males and the rest I tossed cause of their veg characteristics. A lot of bushy runts in this cross.
Between the MM HP and the Joy Sticks, the Joy Sticks have performed better so far. They grow faster, have nice spacings, strong stalks, and moderate to strong smell. Of the mother’s milk only 2 or 3 have potential based on their veg characteristics. Their pre-flowers also have been taking longer to develop.
All said and done there are still a couple of unknowns in the bunch. I’m also on the fence about a few of them. I’m expecting to lose a couple more before all things are said and done. Hopefully only 2 or 3 at most, we’ll see.
I topped them again, did some training, and took clones today. Should have better success this time around. Anything that roots is gonna veg for 3-4 weeks and flip. Rinse and repeat until we have everything cloned up and pull any of the remaining males as I see them.
Nice man! If joystick is anything like gogi og I think you will dig it. Mothers HP should be awesome if you find a mm31 leaner… such a nice high to that one. Felt like I was getting a massage in my chair ha.
