Amish run puppy mills are a big problem here, unfortunately. Most of them are pretty kind, warm-hearted people but just like us they have they have their own issues. My landlord’s bulldog came from a mill and has health issues. They don’t track lines and inbreeding is common. Not to mention, the conditions those dogs live in are horrible. Best advice, don’t support it by buying “pure breds” in these dodgy pet stores that sell them. Adopt from the pound or dog wardern, or if you’re dead set on a specific breed by from a reputable breeder with a pedigree of the line.
