server fund auctions, where 100% of the money goes to the server, are fine. But should likely be limited to once a quarter or something. IMO.

Iām inclined to agree. Off hand the only exception Iād make is for the spring/fall boxes. A few bucks for the server, a few bucks for shipping. Iām comfortable with that.

I donāt see that as a for profit endeavor and it was originally designed not to be. The point was preserve the strain, give the seeds for free and no one has to eat the cost of shipping, just donations in time and effort.

Hi Mesh, I can see your point but just donāt agree which is fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. While I see the issue with others auctions and money changing hands between users causing issues I have no issue with server fund auctions like the one I did a while back. I purchased the seeds from a reputable breeder, I shipped all items, Joe collected all the funds and refunded me the cost of shipping which he charged to the participants. Users got seeds from a reputable breeder and the server got a large influx of cash. Felt like a good way and earned the server fund much more than I could afford to give as an individual. Also went through the whole thing without touching one penny of the cash until I got reimbursed for the shipping. All the time, effort and cash for the seeds came out of my pocket.

Call āem out, dude. Or just say,āI donāt feel comfortable sending seeds to somebody who just joined this site five days ago.ā I just did that on FattyTerps thread not too long ago, where somebody asked me about trading seeds. And dude got super-irate, all-caps responses and shit. Which just proved my instincts were right. If youāre gonna get all bitchy when I say,āI donāt know you, never seen you post, you just joined five days ago,ā then Iām pretty sure I did the right thing.
Iāve only been here for a year, so Iām not an authority on this by any means. But I do feel like I have a good bullshit detector/spidey sense. If somebodyās rubbing me the wrong way, Iāll tell them to fuck off.
As politely as possible haha.

Thatās fine is you disagree. My guess is your opinion will change after spending 3 years on the site like I have. Itās easy to wear rose colored glasses when youāve only been here 6 months and havenāt seen as much fuckery abound due to money exchanges etcā¦ There will always be people on the up and up, but itās the one bad apple that spoils the whole bunch. In my case, Iāve seen a lot of bad apples.

Oh I have no problem denying someone thatās clearly just bumming seeds. I generally try to feel out whoās in the room before I throw a pack out anyway to avoid having to do it though and havenāt had to yet. Thereās one member in particular who I make sure isnāt around for them and I found a new one the other day Iāll do the same with. At the same time though Iām not dropping their names cause Iām not here to argue or be confrontational, I could go to reddit if I wanted that shit. None of my notifications are people being dicks and I like that 
At this point itās annoying but isnāt ruining my time on here by any means. If it escalates past annoying maybe Iāll change my mind on call outs.

You are correct, I have not been here that long and have not seen the same issues you have. In the end I am just trying to support the OG server fund. I liked the idea of not touching any money so with Joe collecting it and dealing with such things it seemed pretty safe from my perspective. However you may be 100% correct, my perspective may change. I am already getting some concerns in the back of my mind when long time respected users like yourself are against such things. Could end up that my next auction, which I already told Joe I was doing, may be my last. I cannot back out of it at this point since I not only purchased the seeds but also told Joe I would do. I just canāt say I will do something and not, itās just not me. That said your concerns do make me have some of my own.

Yeah, my next giveaway is going to have some base requirements including a pic of a plant and tl2, then a vote! Basically you will have to be a grower to enter. (Hint itās Halloween, so start thinking plant costumes now, like literally costumes for a plantā¦)

Thereās a certain level of decorum one must conduct themselves with for me to give any respect at all. Thatās not just here at OG, but life in general. Itās not just online, but in āreal life,ā too. Itās called MANNERS. If you walked into somebodyās house for the first time, you wouldnāt skip the pleasantries and getting-to-know-you phase and just barge in and say,āWHEREāS THE FRIDGE? GIMME A BEER!ā Iām not sure why people think thatās acceptable online.
Or shit, man, maybe it is, I dunno. Iām not okay with it, though. The reason I joined OG, besides being sick of thcfarmer, was because of the Bodhi thread. I hadnāt even read anything else on here. So when I joined, I went straight to that thread and started posting pictures and info of all of my Bodhi grows (one pic at a time, five posts a day maximum for newbies, took me like three days 
). To me, you need to show everybody your bona fides before you barge in and start demanding seeds.

Not trying to speak out of turn here, but what is the best way to give? Iāve been here less than a year, but certainly wish Iād found the place sooner. When I found the place my hair was a bit blown back. The grows, the knowledge, the people, and yes, the seeds. I think when people are new they donāt know all the rules, etiquette, or unspoken protocol. Iāve participated in discussion where I was interested in, started a journal although Iām a bit nervous to share much for reasons, and I have also approached a couple people for trades, and in an instance offered to receive some that someone was giving away. Anyway, long story short, there are people like myself finding this site daily that donāt want a handout, but do want to participate. Would definitely be a bummer for some old timers to to dip out because they donāt recognize a few avatars and equally a bummer if some newbies leave because they feel like they are part of the club. Anyway, Iād like to give some seeds away, and also like to start making seeds to donate here. Everyone is on their own journey on their own timelineā¦.sorry to ramble guys.
