I received the same message shortly after I joined. I even started donating. Spent money in āOG server auctionsā. Quickly figured out how much money was being generated for the server. Realized the amount of advertisements I was seeing on the site. Parasites see It and prey on it. Hugh glass had open season at taking advantage of folksā¦ You know, because everyone on OG are great folk and are out to āovergrow the worldā. Iām sorry, but giving out free seeds to a bunch of freeloading parasites is not the ideology behind OG and never was. This new OG is nothing like the old OG and Iām glad people are finally seeing it for what it is.

Just look at your front page of OG. Use to be a bunch of good grow content. Now itās all free seed this or that. Letās throw in on some seeds. I literally have to search around for pics of hearty flowering plants. Waste of time in all honesty.

That much money would pay for several years worth of hosting most places, however Joe bought his own server with funds that he got from people on here, that he also hosts a bitcoin site on this server as well, so that cost is greatly lessened because all you are paying for is bandwidth and maybe a coder to keep up with bugs that arise, however this forum is being run on XenForo forum software, which is pretty robust in itself and doesnāt really need a lot of maintaining.

Iāve noticed that it seems to come in waves, actually. There are times like now where all I see is drama, bickering and other nonsense clogging up the place. At that point, I usually retreat to my own grow log and my other safe threads for a stretch. Eventually itās safe to come out again. lol

I also think itās funny how many āold school membersā here who canāt seem to remember their old OG account name but swear they are from the old OG. Lol. But, they can remember all the chitter chatter from back then and the names of all the badass plants they were growing.

Overgrow the world to me means grow a shit ton of weed. Not give away seeds to whores. Nor does it mean to turn overgrow into a for profit business which it clearly is. @anon93244739 is 100 percent correct. The fact is the server we all are/were paying for hosts more then just OG. Seen it with my own eyes. It hosts a crypto mining site and apparently a seed selling site. And then we have group seed buys coming up missing. A bit suspect to me. And then, all this shit brings in a bunch of seed hounds looking to gain from all these naive peoples good intentions. Or, well calculated intentions. Either way. Itās a bunch of bullhorn.

Yeah the Hugh thing rubbed but thereās more members thereās more people that arenāt here for all the right reasons. We all agreed Hugh was going to do the disty. No one voted against it that I saw. OG didnāt nominate Hugh. We all picked him i feel. 
I personally would be bummed if the OG flash page said āwe quitā. Kinda like this place. Even if we bicker amongst ourselves.
