I think it depends on the context of what constitutes a “soul”
I dont think that article in any way indicates the existance of a gnostic soul any more than it denies it.

Wait so you’re telling me all those times i was tripping my gourd off, thinking i was seeing peoples auras, i was really just dilating my eyes to the point i could see a weak photon emission 
All joking aside, thats a pretty cool read. As someone who is pretty open about spiritual stuff like souls, i dont think it really proves the existence of such, more so the potential that certain cells behave in ways we lack the understanding to comprehend with our current biological understanding of the world.

you could say that. or you could say that all living things are connected to a universal consciousness and this is how it works. that’s how i take it.

one time i was tripping my balls off on something i was told was synthetic lsd. since all lsd is synthetic i tried it and liked it. it was at the take out on the gauley and i was standing around the fire with a guy drinking, it was late and almost everyone was in tents.
a chinese student had died there 2 weeks prior and that day a girl was rafting over the place she died riding on the bow of here raft holding the rope. looked cool as hell, but i think it was a tad disrespectful based on what happened. as i was talking to the guy, out of the corner of my eye in peripheral vision i saw a girl walk up and stand there quietly. after about a minute, i turned to talk to her and she was there for a second and then just vanished right in front of my eyes.
not too long after that i went to bed. next morning, i was relating that story to my ex who was a guide and dating another guide there who was all set on taking another run with everyone there. after getting as good a description as i could give, it was determined that it was indeed the ghost of the girl who died and that she was indeed a bit disrespected. about half the people who planned on running that day decided against it. about 10 years later clay, the guide my ex was dating, died on that very spot we were drinking when he had a heart attack after finishing his run.

I believe the value in spirituality is purely internal. Theres no harm in sharing what you find, but the search has to be directed inward, through meditation, prayer, whatever you want to call it.
While its a fun exercise searching for a scientific manifestation of the spiritual, its not a path to inner peace.

Would not surprise me in the least TBH. Not something i can prove but ive had some odd experiences related to that.
I only have a rough understanding but real LSD is synthetic, but impossible to make without ergot fungus. A synthetic crystal derived from a fungus. Kinda poetic if you ask me
(fyi there are LSD alternatives that are very bad for you like 25c-NBomes, havent partook in a long time so not the most up to date on the scene)
Thats a crazy experience. Have definitely witnessed some odd happenings and abnormalities around instances of death but not to that extreme. There are a few hikes nearby that multiple people have fallen to their deaths from and there is a very odd energy there. Maybe because i know what happened, maybe not.
Recently i was doing an open pollination of shakedown street from bodhi. Germinated the seeds on the anniversary of Jerry Garcia’s death with the intentions of making a memorial cross.
There was a male, unlike the rest in terms of odor. All the others had really foul stanky chem odors but this one smelled like clean laundry, incense and brought to mind someone that i knew. They ended up dying about the same time that male started dropping its pollen. Based on time of death and when i checked on the plants, we’re talking hours apart. A couple days before the rest of the males.
Now it gets weirder, about 3 weeks later, the males are all fading out and Phil Lesh from the Grateful Dead dies. Happens to die the day before my friends funeral. The entire procession it feels like im attending a funeral for both of them. What was said about one, could have been said about the other. Love for music and knowledge. Keepers of rhythm in their own sense. Very odd experience to say the least. Have not witnessed a death and creation occur with such timing before that.
