Fantasy Island BAV Reproduction Courtesy of Bodhi Seeds

This is an exciting one - thanks to Bodhi and his very generous donation of seed packs to reproduce to the Bodhi Apocalypse Vault (BAV) group here, I’m able to do an open pollination reproduction of Fantasy Island - an old (~15 years ago) limited release that is Purple Urkle x Appalachia! So once again thanks to Bodhi for making this happen, and hopefully I’ll be able to make a large amount of seeds to spread around in the BAV production.

From my research, this one was a limited release in the Breedbay era, maybe only released on breedbay auctions or something along those lines. It was well regarded enough for Bodhi to use a male in an early DLA release, and Strayfox used a male as well.

“one of the most visually stunning plants i have created… kushy maroon modules of crystalized diamond clusters… grows like a bigger bubba… almost exactly the same as the sr71 purple kush x appalachia from a few years back… exotic island flowers, grape and pomegranite, nag champa honey kush aromas and flavors… deep deep sensual relaxing effect…” - Bodhi

that fantasy island that I won last year, here at db…I was finally able to drop a few…my god…what an awesome creation…the medical effect on this #3 pheno is a perfect cross of both parents…super happy effect is all I can say…lol…I laughed for an hour straight…

So to get up to date - I’m about a month or so in, there are 4 females, 6 males. Very good germination, just 1 didn’t sprout from soil - Bodhi stored his seeds very well!

The Females were just transplanted into 3 gal fabrics, males will stay in 1gal pots.

The males are cramped in the veg tent, they need topping soon to keep them manageable. I’ll take photos of each untopped to document structure before topping.

The 4 Females as of last night. Very nice branchy tight node structure. A vast improvement over urkle on its own structurewise. I tend to like the shorter ones with longer petioles… urkle traits in my experience. Stem rubs vary between fruity playdoh, honey, and purple candy. I believe the fruity playdoh and honey aromas are Appalachia traits.

Yeah, fruity playdough is a great description. I found those same terp smell expressions in 2 Appy Xs phenos.

I’m excited to see these be reproduced.

Breedbay brings back memories. Way before I was trusting enough for a forum. Haha
Some of the offerings there were 1 offs that were never made again. Some really rare heirlooms, sometimes. And oddly worked lines that came out nicely. As well as crap and unstable plants.

I remember there toward the end there was a seeder who was auctioning Soma stains he had line bred for some years. I grew his version of Lavender, Citralah, and NYC Diesel. (My 1st diesel or og type) -bk then I was more metal and thought that OGs/Chems/Diesels were for those people that listened to rap and lived a different lifestyle than I was used to in farmland/oregon usa where I was.

2nd incarnation of C99 I grew was from an individual called subzero69 from his version of a cubed '96 version. Maybe that was '99. I know it was after my crazy landrace+ bagseed grow attempts in '98. Hehe

All this to say- I’m looking forward to readimg/seei g how the ladies progress. And excited to pop a few of these “F2s” myself even.

Thank you for doing this rare and highly medicinal strain.

Purple Urkle has a wonderful peaceful effect. Like a good OG but w a more body relaxing effect. But is less sedating and more “daytime” than say a GDP.

I see from photos the Appy male greatly improves the yield, vigor and structure of the small, slow and often short Urkle mom.

I ran a pack of it last year, had some appy leaners and some urkle leaners. Overall mediocre. I had better CSI Urkle stuff and theres lots of better chem gear out there…

What urkle stuff did you get from csi? The s1 or a cross? How did it compare to fantasy island ?
