👨🏽‍🌾 Farmer Pigeonman (OR): How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Indoor Growing (Part 2)

I’m finally getting to cleaning up the basement. It’s been dragging me down when I see the need to be done still sitting there so I’m doing Bill Murray baby-steps to get a little done every day so it’s then just “done”.

This will included finally installing those fancy new DeepRed and UVB led units I got from Spiderfarmer.

Now if only they sold their blue strips up here in the great white north.

It’s taking a while because it’s hot and humid so it’s hard to work but i’m making a big dent in the to do list.

I’m going though each mother plant and taking 2 cuts as a fresh start plant as these moms have gotten to big to manave back small again.

I ran put of cubes though so i had to stop but here’s what’s backed up so far.

Next i gotta make my selections for moms from all these plants and up pot them. The rest i’ll run prob asap as i have to get through them.

Noe to look at the outside plants then back at it downstairs.

I ALWAYS check inventory online before making a trip to a store if it’s gonna be more than a 20min drive to get too; and while I did it as per usual I didn’t check business hours at Astral Grow as I’m so used to their schedule.

So when I arrived at the shop and opened the sketchy back door which is both parking customer and employee loading I was greeted by a party of 6 children, 2 dogs, 1 ginger cat, a woman I’ve never seen and the co-owner who looked completely surprised at my entrance.

“Oh! We’re so sorry we’re closed on Monday’s now…” she started and then added :… but it’s YOU! And YOU always know what you want, are polite and a good customer so please come on in."

I thanked her for letting me spend money on site today and complimented the “at work with AC Camp” her kids and their friends were all clearly doing.

“See! This is why no worries with you shopping today.”

And with that I rushed to get my rock wool cubes, Alaska fish shit, and extra pot and saucer and was out in 4min so no one saw me in there off business hours.

100% why i support small and local business’!

Absolutely. And it’s easy to be cordial and considerate with folks. It’ll come back to a person. Even if it’s not spoken as “This is because it’s you”, that appreciation is there and you’ll get preferential service more often than not.

Tgese are Black Olive, Greek Myrtle, and Calamondin Oranve cuttings.

They do best in the mid high 20’s for propagating so with the ac down might as well do something positive with the temps.

Strip the lower part leavkng 3+ nodes. This gets scuffed and coated in goo.

All tucked into pure promixbx, then soaked through with filtered water and under ghe dome.

They’ll get daily air exchange but since i left so manu leaves on the dome stays closed up for transpiration.

In 3-6 weeka i should have plants unless the cuts reject. No worries though as theres always more cuts on the mother plants.

Thanks @Abbbian and apologies for the uber delay in reply I swear I did but clearly it was a stoner moment!

Our AC is replaced, and the new heat pump system has been kicking the heat wave after heat waves ass so the Mrs, I and the animal family are all able to function again after taking some time to recover after almost 1 month at 26-32c+ all day and night inside.

Bonus; each head of the heat pump has it’s own condenser so I have 4 bucket/garbage cans outside tapping into them so as the house cools itself down the water produced is being stored for the plants!

 :+1:

Now we just gotta hustle to pay it all off in 3 years…

Small stress to pay for quality of life tbh.

Bonus is that with the climate control back in place I’m slowly and surely getting the indoor projects back on track such as the 18x strain F1 chuck:

Yeah that took a lot longer than expected but not as bad as it could be considering the cyclone separator was in play.

Next will be looking throught the 15x strain run with the Nepali Watermelon Hashplant pollen… I do think this failed as the pollen didn’t look great when I pulled it out.

Regardless even if I end up with 15x seedless plants and a whole lot of cannadust that’s still more material for the tumbler and then bubble hash wash!

Im gonna say this about heat pumps. They work ok for the cooling cycle. The suck during the winter.
Personally, if I come in from cold outside, I like to stand next to a vent and get the heat. Heat Pumps, in my opinion, always feel like they are blowing cool. Maybe its just me. And maybe they are different than they were about 10-15 years ago.

10-15 years ago i agreed and went with traditional ac. We dont have a furnace or duxting ao heat is baseboards.

The install is rate for -30c where the quote back in 09 was rated for -0c. The hope is that they supliment heat enough to have the baseboards kick in as little as possible.

I installed a -30 heat pump mid winter… yes it does work way better than the the older one previously… emergency heat strips barely get used now… Prob cut electric bill in half

Alright today’s been a “get shit done” day as I just up potted 23 rooted cuts taken about 3 weeks ago.

Here’s what’s left under the dome.

And the cuts in promix.

On the other side of this tent are the “spares” going WTF DUDE!.

Okay, this year has been a transitional one for me and lots of changes have been happening. One I didn’t think would happen was having to take a time out from giving away beans to folks as I navigated some shit.

Are you sure they are from his leg? Are they curly or straight?
Can we clone him with it?

I’d assume we must trust him as he’d be sending directly.

I assumed wavy or coily to be honest; the other 2 hair types.

YES. But at what cost?
