This is kind of interesting. I have a female plant, All Gas OG by HSC that is a flowering female that never had stigmas. Pretty neat! Had anyone else had a plant like this?
Seed and soil here in Maine runs a lot of Humboldt seed co strains. They have a cultivar that is called dankincense which is along the same line as venom og/all gas og. They say watch for a pheno that is pretty much hairless or pistils that barely protrude out of the bract. For what it’s worth, figured I would share that. Growing a dankincense outdoors this year and she has bright white hairs and purple bracts very cool looking. Smells exactly as they describe. Conifer, spicy, and gassy. ![]()
If you listen to the most recent episode of “The Potcast” Breeder Steve (Spice of Life) discusses discovering a plant without stigmas. He goes on to discuss a method of breeding he’s “discovered” that forces obligate parthenocarpy. He has a company in the works called “VeroSinse” that helps companies apply this method. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if HSC is one of his clients.
My dad got one of those too, and I believe his was also a HSC All Gas OG! I sent him a text to ask but yeah, kinda unique/weird but it didn’t seem to have any noticeable impact on the end smoke ![]()
*edit: yep, confirmed ![]()
Is that from one of their Triploids they offer? Was wondering if maybe that was a trait from that. I know they are trying to make their beans harder to pollinate, less stigmas would make sense
So trying to make them harder to pollinate and moving towards patented strains?
Yup. It’s a crazy interview, definitely worth a listen.
Nah, was just a fem seed.
Clone it it’s sterile chance’s are if there’s 0 hairs on her and it looks so hopefully it is
