FieldEffect's Attempt to Grow Indoors

I just finished wetting down the pollination tent to transfer the fully-loaded Desfran and Choco moms back to the main tent. Got some Choco pollen to store for later use as well.

The Desfran and Juicy Woo both share an essence very similar to the Panama x Malawi. Not sure how to summarize it, spicy woody citrus is my best take at it. Perhaps the South American content in each. I like it

I’ve found myself consuming more sativa than anything else. Indica only after dark. I’m happy with how well it’s working out in the tent with my ruthless “snap the stem 90 degrees and it’ll probably be fine” approach

Yea, I try and get the leds/heatsinks as close to the ceiling as I can - within reason. In the past I’ve used, well many things, but when I was stupid and let plants get too tall before flipping (half the time at least) I’ve had to use a combo of industrial zip ties and carabiners. I would double and triple the zip ties in case one of them broke, and change them after a run.

I had one of those black rubber bungies (princess auto, like your harbor freight) hanging something relatively heavy and the cheap, garbage “rubber” broke within a day or two and the thing fell to the ground with, miraculously, no damage. I strung it back up with chain, and even put a backup chain to another hook, in case.

Anyways. How hot do the tops of your boards get, probably pretty cool temps?

It’s hard to actually use the last 15-20cm of tent height but I had to figure out a way.

The pollination tent light is zip-tied to the ceiling. That light gets pretty warm, but not scalding hot. You’ve got me all paranoid now

The DIY boards run pretty cool, but I’m usually running about 1/2 rated power through them to keep the PPFD ~500. I’ll try to remember to take some thermal pictures.

Got the sub-idea ^^
Some memes are efficient for mnemonics lol

I told you ^^ It’s more than healthy on this one, it’s also very clean and oxygenated.
You’re on the lighters colors of the good spectrum.

Double flux save lives and prevent nerves crisis.

I noticed the fan in a space used to produce seeds/pollen … just nah.

Way too early buddy, you don’t want to store this pollen.

Crowns are formed but the flowers don’t have started to colonize and to inflate in dusty “buds”. Not a matter of size or numbers, but hormones.

What you’re waiting for is the sudden bump in GA3 (male promoter) that will stretch the flowers individually. A couple of week, and you forgot that males consume way more PK than females. It’s more than helping ^^

Most of the time it’s this. One month almost off here just because i want to be sure to be rushed by the juvenile transplantations at the right time ^^

Good process, but applied too early.

No, you’re right. Something strange is happening. The base is very much NLish and this leave’s shape … let’s roll one of a mid-sept outdoor female ^^ Still lurking the D-day on your outdoor …

I just get out from … let me roll one before.

I finished my test of viability with indoor pollen with this one.
The trick to dry passively the flowers is in fact the strategy giving the less results ^^

The higher viability is obtained in drying the faster possible the flowers/pollen at a max temp of 50°c/122°f. However how.

@funkyfunk , one stone two birds, this one by example :

You have a shit ton on aliexpress too. I prefer driers with air layering, they work for seeds and male flowers.

So yeah, first : dry the hell the flowers and pollen, the faster you can and harvest entire stems to dry. Sweet spot temps zone : 35°c/95°f - 50°c/122°f

The optimal % is below 10% RH, quite hard to obtain passively enough fast.
I’m on the storage experiments … no real conclusions yet for optimal productivity.

Shapes are starting to talk rightly i must say.
So glad to see some around it’s stupid lol Worth the reference i swear.

I’m fucking glad also that you have completed your ecosystem.
Being no longer tributary to the releases and even their state is a true freedom today.

It mean a high density of seeds, so a fight for high calibration.
Nothing to worry about in the photo, just sharing a logic to integrate fast.

The potentiometer of the number of seeds, in gauging the flower’s type, give an edge on the grade of what you’re storing. It’s not easy and instant, but there is the sane goals to set to train the farmer :

  • being able to produce 50 seeds / plant
  • being able to produce 100-200 seeds / plants
  • driving an heavily loaded female, start to end (5K+ seeds) with calibration over 60% of the harvest ^^

It’s not “being able” much, but more “obtaining on demand”. These pseudo challenges help a lot to care only about what matter to control the yield of seeds. From the necessary regime to the synch.

On the photo, that’s the kind of pollen you want to dry overnight and to store.
Let’s roll one you trapped me in burning the late lol Shit ton of stuff to do, but fuck it.

I’m searching a light deflector for an experiment, if any. Just a layer i can put at one inch of the panel diodes to blur the directional light. Lacking of cool ideas … photographic filters isn’t what i’m searching.

always someone to spoil you the season you want to binge

I see this again yes, eventually you can use the bonsai tech : copper wire, copper induce nanism. Just one ring at the apex crown … i never tried lol But the logic is not high as fuck at least lol

big up, and congrat for the 360° integration. That’s fucking something.

Great to see that your up to no good @FieldEffect, and in full motion lol

I love the wild Hairdo-on that Haze !!!

Wow it’s been a wild couple months here. Daughter is feisty which is wonderful, just not for the attention my plants get

Here’s the state of the flower chamber this AM. Everything is cut down.

I’ll have these crosses:
Desfran x Chocolope
Chocolope x Chocolope
Juicy Woo x Juicy Woo
Chocolope x Juicy Woo
Desfran x Juicy Woo
Haze Special x Juicy Woo

Some of the buds don’t look great, I’ve not been taking great care of them the last few months. And my pictures turned out looking even worse. Anyway, here’s one of the Juicy Woos my favorite pheno I can’t pin the scent it’s intoxicating. Kinda incense? Kinda citrus? Terrible pic I tried - it’s hard with sticky glove hands.

Those are all drying now some good looking beans popping out.

Scrubbed down and sterilized everything ready for the next run. Clean slate.

I do have a favor to ask of one of my EU friends. I can make it interesting with seeds, PM if you are interested in forwarding a small (legal, not seeds a component I can’t order domestically) package for me.

The holiday season is upon us, which will mean work being considerably more laid back. I’ll have much more time to partake in my hobbies. This last summer and fall has been brutal, family stuff, health stuff, parenting stuff, and a job that demands a lot of mental energy.

@funkyfunk I think it’s going to be a run of Ortega/MLI. I’ll probably do a total of 21 seeds.

7 each:
Mr. Nice Ortega
FDM Ortega
Sensi Maple Leaf Indica

Fuck it I may just pop all 30 and throw away anything that doesn’t have the balls to survive.

If I make seeds, I make seeds. We’ll see. I at least have the pollination tent ready it’s easy if I see the right breeding plants. Simplified run this time, all at once, no clones (if there’s a winner I’ll reveg), all the same plant (supposedly )

I spent way too long debating what I wanted to do. I think fat leaves and sleepy highs are what I want this winter. I’ve got plenty of Sativa stuff from the outdoor and indoor this summer. I think it’s a good routine - Winter Indoor Indicas, Summer Sativas. I’m so sick of budrot outside on the indicas I’m kinda over even trying that. The sativas grow on their own and handle the weather well, so I’ll just stick to what works. When this run is done perhaps I run a bunch of the home-crossed sativa beans to get some nice plants for the summer run outside :sunglasses:

@Fuel I’ll shoot ya a PM

Here we go. Shift gears towards fat leaves and paralyzing weeds.

Sensi seeds look pretty decent uniform in size, large, exactly 10 count. Stupid bubble pack - or maybe I’m the idiot I didn’t use the little perforated hole in the back I tried to slice the bubble off for ease. And it wasn’t. Like the anti-theft packaging on everything these days. And not sealed. Just annoying. Tried to get all fancy and left function at the bottom of their priority list.

Mr. Nice included 18 seeds, ripe, smaller in size. Germinating 10 and sealed up 8 to go back in storage.

FDM seeds look variable in color, 11 count. All in.

So we’ve got 31 seeds wet, let’s see what happens :cowboy_hat_face:

Cheers

Right on @FieldEffect . I do Afghani based stuff through the winter (usually ) and tropical things in the summer too. I’m inside, but for similar reasons as you. Best of luck with your starts!
