First Cultivation in the Capital of the Amazon

Hello OG family,

In 2019, I first encountered the growing world by following Gynetics’ Instagram profile, my main influence and reference in this field. Since then, I’ve been closely observing every story and highlight posted, studying and planning my setup, aiming to be prepared when the right moment arrived. It took years of studying, researching, and formulating viable alternatives for my situation.
Finally, the moment has arrived. After much delay, I’m now in the midst of pre-flowering with my first plant.

I purchased my first seeds from Dentista Seeds, a Lemon Skunk Photoperiod strain. I’m growing them outdoors, supplemented by a 100W Avant LED reflector, both cool white and warm yellow.

The substrate I’m using wasn’t made from raw materials; I purchased it through a fertilized topsoil producer in my city. At the time, I requested soil suitable for tomato cultivation (for discretion, obviously), a high-quality substrate. I simply added more worm castings and cured manure. For fertilization, I’m using only KNF and JADAM techniques, watering with aloe vera, and rooting agent Germinated Lentils.

It was potted on June 25th. I germinated it using the hydrogen peroxide technique. In the third week, with approximately three pairs of true leaves formed, it suffered its first canine attack, losing part of its leaves without suffering damage to the apical tip. On July 30th, it suffered its third canine attack, losing some of its leaves. I tried to contain the attacks by isolating the pot with wire mesh. This provided some security, but it wasn’t enough until August 18th, when I finally discovered it was my dog devouring the leaves (until then, I thought it was my cats). My dog attacked it six times in total, but the plant maintained its vigor, growing without problems, a warrior plant. On August 27th, it unexpectedly began to show its first pistils, and I started a 12/12 photoperiod. Currently, the pistils are multiplying to other branches.

Despite all the difficulties I faced until this stage, I never stopped trusting the process and dedicating all my patience and energy to the plant. Each problem I faced was a learning experience, and it continues to be so. I had problems with thrips and gnat fungi, and I use EM5, andiroba oil, and Arruda water as a preventative and pest control treatment.

The only thing I regret is not having started growing sooner. My dream has always been to smoke quality, raw flower and free myself from drug addiction. I know I’m far from having cultivated the best genetics available on the market, but in reality, I’m super happy with my performance so far. I’ll have the opportunity to visit Spain in the future, and I’m already researching where to buy the best seeds available.

I agree she looks good and you have planned well. I had a chipmunk completely burrow in and dig up one of my pots not 1 not 2 but 3 times and shes plugging away even after i trimmer her. They are beautiful, resilient, and highly regarded in all region’s for mwdical purposes. A weed none the less but a glorious one and very hardy

@Gpaw
Do you think some pepper plants around his next crop would help??? Or would it harm his best friend :thinking:

In my experience dogs do not care for pepper plants so it would act as some level of deterrent.
You might have better success with planting Rosemary or Marigolds in the areas where you want the dog to avoid, they have a strong smell and dogs are sensitive to them. Garlic is another they don’t care for as well.

Thank you, friend OG. I studied and researched so much that I ended up creating many difficulties, but our medicine is perfect, summer practically all year round, the lowest temperature it can reach is 22°C. Doing the basics is all I needed.

Looking great! @Yems. Maybe get another plant going for the dog so he stays away from yours?
