First indoor grow of granddaddy purp

She’s a photoperiod granddaddy purp. Is it to early to top?

Depends on your goals, your plan for the grow

Top away !
also look up,
“manifolding step by step” on here.
You’re at the right stage for any direction that you want to go.
But man! It certainly looks good !

About 3 to 4 years ago I was given a couple dozen bagseeds from GDP. They’re from the first ever sales from a Dispo in central Ark.
I pop’d 3,
the first thing I noticed was the bottom side of the mature fan leaves had a pink, light purple shimmer as you flipped them over in the light and looked down them longways.
I bet they’re still good, I’ll follow along as you progress.

You have more than enough nodes, go for it.

The trick is to top it with the least amount of damage. I gently open up the top bud to expose the meristem and remove with a scalpel.
It’s ‘fiddley work’ but minimizes the plant recovery time.

I use very long delicate tweezers,.

If i top i usually do it after the 4th or 5th node. Looks like its ready. I just picked up some GPD myself. Where you get your genetics from? I got my from seedsman/Granddaddy genetics they were expensive. Also picked some up from a local breeder at 2 seeds per $1.

Hey, I germ tested some almost 10 year old Green Crack and look!

A purple Green Crack, so far 80%.
I remember when purples were the rage everywhere. I had never seen such dark ones and gathered them up for someday.
Who sang
“Someday”
Credence Clearwater?
How many GDP are you going to run?

I’m honestly not a huge fan of these genetics.b from what I’ve researched at least. I got it from a newer seedbank I think, strng seeds. I got one auto strain and one photoperiod strain. My auto is now 6 months old and hasn’t budded and my photo is budding at 2 months lol. My friend told me it could be from the burple light I’m using but idk. We’ll see! It’s all fun.

Awesome! I used to love green crack back in the day! Do you have any “extra” seeds?

Thank you, there’s two distinct phenos. They won’t get away.
If something worthy appears I’ll share it here then share the resulting beandip.

One thing not to worry about is there will likely be some minor damage visible on the new leaves as they grow out.

Update y’all! Judging by these pics how much longer would you guys say until harvest?

Two weeks.

Seriously, though, scope the trichomes, top buds and then lowers. I pull at full cloudy, about 10-15% amber, knowing the amber isn’t just accidental. Other people at other times.

Edit: Oh, and my GDP gets skunkier/stinkier the longer I let it go. By 63 it’s skunk-o-rama, not even grape anymore. I think other people here have GDPs that do the same…

Hell yeah thanks man. Almost all of my white hairs are turning red. And almost all my trichomes are at least half cloudy if not full cloudy.
