Righr now im trying to figure out what kind of cover to use im thinking 4year 6mil opaque greenhouse sheeting
Shits heavy. Plus snow. You need to plan long term or if will break with a wind or snow storm.
If you trying to use it over winter you’ll need heat. Google “diy solar air heater black screen” and build one. Uses a box, fan, and black screen in it. Sun heats up the box, air goes in box, air comes out of box warm. Add some 55 gallon water tanks as heat sinks and you can use the greenhouse in winter and early spring
Thanks guys the frame has held up to the snow in past years with the cover on it just rolls right off. So the snow should run right off the greenhouse plastic too but yeah i gotta figure out some kind of heat i do actually have some barrels i can paint black. I was also thinking of getting a black tarp for the floor to draw more heat
Thanks drg i couldnt really find this but it was kinda what i was looking for. I know theres also a way to use my phone and put in my location and your phone tells you the best spot for sun but i cant remember what it was lol. The raineys always use it when they build solar stuff on the one off grid homestead tv show. Its some app for sun exposure tells you the spot with the most sun duration for maximum solar or garden energy
When setting up my greenhouse I stood in the spot it was going, looked at where the sun rises. Then where the sun sets. And lined it up that way
Yeah basically what i did i got a pine tree blocking some sun in the morning but behind me out back has a nice spot open for the frame and gets good sun the rest of the day. The pinetree is actually half dead but if i cut it itll be sun all day no shade so kinda torn what to do lol the top half of the tree still has green needles so havent chopped it
