Found a bean in a bag of Wazabi Kush from a local shop. Which inspired me to finally purchase a few Bridgelux EB strips. I’ve had great success with a 100W version, I’ll be putting together a 150W and 240W version in the coming weeks.
For now, the old Vero’s are still burning under those massive heatsinks:
I decided I needed the ventilation to be filtered on the inlet as well as the outlet. Back in December the easiest option was to use a box with a HVAC return filter, I believe it was 20” x 20” (what ever the caveman conversion is to the Civilized metric).
Upon immediately realizing the light leaked all over the place my mind immediately went to work sorting out a solution.
I hope it is a quick recovery and that things go smoothly from here! I’m a pretty new grower and definitely learning some lessons the hard way as I go.
First time with fabric pots, by the time I realized she had dug-in on the bottom it was too late to turn back. I’m hoping the potassium and phosphorus will help regenerate the roots.
Blueberry on the left and Haze on the right, both of them just look haggard. Germination did not go well, I couldn’t get either of the Super Skunk to crack either.
She’ll probably be fine. Growth will maybe slowdown for a week while she gets over the shock. But you’ll be surprised how much abuse some plants can take, and are still fine. She was already looking very healthy. It’ll be ok
The buds have been growing almost daily. I noticed a slowing of growth and a droop of the leaves that wasn’t water, I assumed a transplant was needed for root binding. One other thing I did was top the plant above the 6th or 7th node, that would likely shock the plant. She is growing a smaller third cola now.
I figure less than two months if I’m lucky, or about 2 months because of the shock. Either way, I’m ready to dry and cure this bud and get the Blueberry and Haze rolling behind it.
I’m not sure if I’m going to crack the Bluedream or the Orange Bud yet…
This is what I call “no string training”, basically low stress training without strings. It works.
The luminaire has been raised, the overall ppfd has been lowered. I’m assuming the stress in the plant is from too much PAR (thanks, Vero’s).
New bud sites every day, more hairs, a very nice smell.
The Blueberry and Haze are coming along nicely since the phosphorus was added, the roots should be digging in deep right now. Next week both of them will find homes in 3 gallon fabric pots.
Even the desert aloe received some love, new sand and some rocks from Arizona!
She is doing much better this morning, lots of new growth with a little stretch up top. The light is basically maxed out right now, I’ll need to rearrange the tents so the flowering cycle has maximum height.
The Blueberry and Haze have rooted well and are starting to go up. I’m hoping to get these into 3 gallon fabric pots in the next month and build an auto-cloner.
The new phones have horrible lenses for close-up shots, so I decided I needed an old phone with a better lens and added the app since the phone has no service. Now it will be simple to dial-in the environmental controls for day/night cycles. This will also help keep track of the veg/flower cycles as well as drying.
The Kush is coming along, she’s really stretching towards the Vero’s. Lots of hairs and new growth all over. A slight defoliation every day unless it is not needed. Training has basically stopped, the branches are about where they need to be. She looks to be a bit over-watered, the environment is a bit more stable now than it was before and the 3 gallon fabric pots are holding a bit more moisture than the 1 gallon.
The Blueberry and Haze have been moved up to get a better seat at the table. Both look a bit light-starved. The clone looks to be doing well, there are also clones of parsley and dill that seem to be rooting.
I’ve never seen the desert aloe look this good. With the temperature in the mid to low 80’s and a relative humidity of 60-70% I haven’t had to water it at all. The aloe seems to actually be doing better under the shade of the Kush.
