My son came down for a few days to help me get the spring cleaning stuff done and brought me a really cool new bowl from Mexico. The Wedding Cake, Triangle Kush and Wreckage Master Bastard Kush buds are dry and in Grove bags now so I gotta decide what to break it in with. Probably going to be Wedding Cake as I haven’t had a chance to try it much yet.
We hit 87 degrees today and it is way too early to be this damn hot. Going to need another AC unit I’m guessing if it’s going to be this kind of heat. Hope y’all are staying cool and having a good start to the week.
I’m in central VA in the mountains. It’s usually a little cooler here than in the Southern part of the state. Heard they got 90 a couple places in the state today. Next week is in the mid 60s again so I guess it will be a weird summer.
Thanks man, it’s a really nice strain. I love the high from it and the jars smell amazing. Definitely one I’m running again and keeping a cut of for the future.
Going to start some auto flower seeds today that really help my wife with nausea. They’re Nurple from Binary Selections and I’m going to pop some Anvil seeds from Gnome Automatics to try out as well. Nurple is Blackberry Kush Auto x Nami and can produce some beautiful purple buds that smell like grape pixie sticks candy. The Anvil strain is Alf#5 x Bubba Kush and has been taken to F8 to really lock in this pheno. Anvil can get decent sized at 3 to 4 feet in a small pot and has very heavy indica dominant effects with deep couch lock and help with insomnia. I’ve ran Nurple twice before and it yields decent with 3-4 ounce plants in a 3 gallon pot that are funky grape smelling and fairly frosty. These will be run in a 4x4 tent in my new veg area along with some clone mothers to veg alongside of them. Hope to get some good meds from these for both of us and I’m trying to decide if I’ll reverse one to make more seeds as Nurple can be out of stock sometimes and isn’t cheap if it is in stock. I got the Nurple and Anvil auto flower seeds soaking and decided to soak some of my first seeds I ever made. Pre 98 Bubba Kush x Blue Kush and Purest Indica x Blue Kush. The pollen was courtesy of @DougDawson and this will be the first try to germinate these since I made them. Hoping to get at least one girl of each and see how BOG’s Blue Kush adds to the mix. I’ll update once they pop.
All the autoflower seeds had at least 1/4" tails showing today so they got dropped into some Roots Organic original soil in Solo cups. I know some people say you shouldn’t transplant autos but I’ve had good luck with it as long as you transplant them early around day 14 and are gentle with them. I was excited to see 100% germination on these as they were in the freezer for the past 4-5 years and I was worried they might be getting old. I saw 2 of my pollen chuck seeds had cracked and had tiny tails so hopefully in the next day or two they will be ready to plant. Still roughly a week before the harvested plants from last run are done drying and then I’ll be turning the drying room into a veg area for clone mom’s and autoflower grows. Hope everyone is doing great and your plants are healthy.
Hope to have 2 new clones coming in tomorrow as long as post office tracking is right. Both are coming in from Cannaventure Seeds and he’s just been amazing to deal with as far as clones go. Great customer service and really good prices on clean, legit cuts.
I’ll be putting the Phlizon light up this week that I was lucky to win here on OG and I’m hoping the bar design will give better spread over the QB style board design of the Spider Farmer I’ve been running this past year.
It’s been a great day in the mountains today. I had tails on 3 Purest Indica x Blue Kush seeds this morning and 2 Pre 98 Bubba Kush x Blue Kush seeds are ready for soil as well. Got a package from Rusty at Cannaventure Seeds with 2 clones in it, Irene OG and 92 OG. He gave me the Irene as a bonus cut and even though I already have an Irene clone I’ll run it soon to see how the cuts differ or if they’re identical. The 92 OG is also known as Original OG and I’m excited to get a chance to run it as anything OG has been good meds for both me and my wife. Now, I just need a King Louis XIII clone and a Ghost OG cut and I’m done hunting for awhile. Hope y’all have a great weekend. We have temps in the upper 80s coming up Monday and Tuesday so I gotta get a cheap window unit AC this weekend if I can find one. Too early to be that hot but such is the wacky way of the weather around here lately.
The autos went 7/7 popping above ground and 2/5 of my pollen chuck seeds are up. Both of those are Purest Indica x Blue Kush so hopefully I’ll see some of the Pre 98 Bubba Kush x Blue Kush seeds up soon. I’m hoping for at least 1 female of each so I can flower them out. The clones I just got in are acclimated and doing great. Can’t wait to flower out the 92 OG and compare it to the Pre 98 Bubba I’ve had for awhile.
We’re gonna be in the mid to upper 80s for the next 5 days so AC is going to be working overtime.
I managed to get my old Spider Farmer quantum board light out of the 5x5 and got the Phlizon PH-FD8-E 640 watt bar style LED light up and running for the next flower run. This Phlizon light is from a contest win here on Overgrow and I want to thank @PhlizonGrowLight for their sponsorship and this great contest prize. Shipping was very well done and discrete if that’s a concern in your area. Package came with all power cords, daisy chain connector and several yoyo style support strings. The instructions were decent but could have had a little more direction on installing the driver and the electric connections. It was easy to figure out with some time and patience but a couple extra diagrams showing the routing of everything would be nice. The light is rated for 640 watts and at full power it shows 620 watts on my meter. The 20 watt difference between advertised max and tested max worked out to 3.125% variance which is the smallest variation I’ve found in testing 3 separate high watt LED grow lights over the last couple years. I’ll get some lux readings over the next few days as I start moving plants in for a few weeks of veg and then flower.
I’m hoping and expecting this will have a more even canopy coverage from the spread out bars it uses as compared to the quantum board design of the Spider Farmer I’ve been running.

I haven’t 100% decided what’s getting flowered this run in here but most likely it’s going to be; OGKB 2.0, Blue Dream Santa Cruz cut, Stardawg Corey, Afgooey and Motorbreath 15. I’m thinking of adding a GDP cut from @Til_Valhalla but have to see how much room there will be. I plan on flipping much smaller plants than I normally do as the 5 footers are just too much for me to be lifting and dragging around the tent for daily watering. I also will have some autoflower seeds going at the same time and expect them to yield pretty well.

Trying to finish trimming the Blue Dream and Irene today and tomorrow so I can setup a 4x4 in the drying room for the autos and then in a little while I’ll setup another 4x4 in that area for all the clone mom’s. The Blue Dream sample I tried yesterday was really nice. Very happy and energetic buzz that will be great for smoking early in the day. Looking forward to seeing this Santa Cruz cut of Blue Dream flowered out and comparing it to the one I just ran from seed. Gonna take a clone off the GDP Abuelas cut I got from you this week so I can hopefully transplant the mom I have going now into a bigger pot and flower out the new clone as soon as it’s ready. We hit 86 today, feels like I’m back in Texas lol.
Next year or two I hope to convert the flower tent area into a proper grow room with the whole 10x10 room to use and ditch the tents. I’ve taken over both of our grown children’s rooms and getting a mini split AC along with a waterproof floor covering will let me spread things out better and improve access for watering in the flower area. I remember when all I had was a 2x4 tent and some blurple lights. Thanks to some great contest wins and a super generous member here that just gave me a tent, fan, controllers, sensors and seeds I’m really in a much better situation now. I’m such a cheapskate I still have the original 2x4 from 2016 and the blurple lights so hopefully that can ultimately become a tent for males and pollination attempts.
He sent me the 92 OG and Irene clones this time. My Triangle Kush and Trinity cuts are from him also. He’s been great to me and his cuts are clean and legit. I hope to get a few more from him this year like his Las Vegas Triangle Kush and maybe a Ghost OG clone but I have to thin down my mother plants before then and let a few go.
