hey @JAWS ,

what do you typically use to reverse your females?

STS

i have always did the three sprays over a ten day time frame, how ever the last few times the reverse went perfectly how ever i did not get any usable pollen. this time i just went with a single spray and it work perfectly again, but now i just have to wait and see if im going to get pollen and then i need to see if the pollen is viable.

Hey FCA when you do the double cup method are you bottom watering? I just now noticed you had two solos in one. Are you putting rocks or something as spacers?

I only ask because that’s where i think I’ve been messing up with some of my clones, getting over excited and not leaving them alone. Do you just have water in the bottom cup and holes in the cup the plants are in?

Thanks brudda

The square cups can be stacked inside of each other so that there is about an inch gap under the rooted cut. I water from above with a turkey baster and after watering I dump the lower cup out to get rid of the runoff. The double cup idea was mainly to help prevent the spread of HLVD by giving each cut it’s own separate catchpan to collect the runoff and not have the risk of plants all sharing the same nursery tray where they could spread it thru runoff sitting in the tray.
The bottom cups usually have a small amount of runoff from the clones that helps draw the roots down.
I’ll grab a pic later to show how it looks.

That’s smart. I’m fucking paranoid about hlvd

It’s nasty stuff and with the amount of clones I get coming in from trades and gifts I try hard to isolate each strain. I use scalpels for taking cuts off my mother plants so each strain can have its own blade and prevent cross contamination from sharing scissors.

Likewise. It’s a huge pain but hlvd is scary

I do the same thing. I use it to bottom water when they are seedlings, then it acts as a mini sip until they are ready for a xplant. You get some nice fish bones going on!

I wipe everything off with alcohol, before moving to the next plant 🪴. Start with alcohol wipes :roll_of_toilet_paper: and always finish with alcohol wipes :roll_of_toilet_paper:.:ok_hand::facepunch::+1::sunglasses::peace_symbol:

Alcohol does not kill hlvd

10% bleach solution, 60 second contact time. I have several sets of trimmers so one I always soaking while I work on one plant, swap for next plant. I also soak my gloves between plants.

I started seeing rust on my trimmers from the bleach so I just got a cheap pack of disposable scalpels. Bleach will work great though as long as you leave it in the solution long enough to kill the virus.

@Heavenlygoo , here’s a pic showing the double cup setup. The clear cups are smaller so they keep the clone about an inch above the bottom of the second cup. Leaving a tiny bit of water in the bottom cup causes the roots to reach out through the bottom of the clone cup like you see in the pic. These are overdue for transplanting and I hope to get them in 1 gallon pots tomorrow.

In the background you can see the solo cup and ziploc bag method I use for taking just a few cuts. A folded up damp paper towel is put in a Solo cup and then the cutting is dipped in Hormex #8 and put into a root riot cube and placed in the cup. I mist a ziploc baggie and then slide it over the top of the clone and zip it up to act as a mini humidity dome. Then I usually put them in my veg area with low light. I’ll check them after a few days and mist the baggie as it dries out to keep humidity high in the cup.

We finally got out truck back today so I ran down to town and grabbed a couple bags of soil. Roots Organic is 30 bucks a bag now…ouch. Grabbed a bunch of 1 and 2 gallon pots so I can get the clone mom’s out of their Solo cup prisons. They are starting to show deficiency issues with a few strains from getting too dry between watering.
I got 3 of the autoflower plants into 2 gallon final pots and into my 5x5 for now. 2 of The Anvil and 1 Nurple are done with 2 more of each to go.
I also got to meet up with a local friend and drop off some clones and samples of my last run. I’m gonna sleep good tonight after all this running around. Hope y’all are doing well and your gardens are thriving.

Got all the autos transplanted into 2.5 gallon pots. Everything got a dose of Recharge and hopefully they will not be stunted too badly from the late transplanting. I try to transplant autos by day 14 from seed pop but since I was out of soil and our vehicle was in the shop they had to wait until day 21 and 22.
The seedlings from my pollen chucks are doing well and will be ready for 1 gallon pots in the next week or two. I’m hoping the Pre 98 Bubba Kush x Blue kush pollen from @DougDawson will be a female but I’m in no rush to find out so no DNA testing this round. The 3 Purest Indica x Blue Kush babies are nice and healthy. Hoping for at least one female from them as well. Tomorrow I’ll start transplanting the clones I’m planning on flowering this next run into 2.5 gallon pots and after that I’ll get the clone mother plants into 1 gallon pots. The weekend is just around the corner, hope y’all have a great one.

Pre 98 Bubba x Blue Kush in the front and Purest Indica x Blue Kush are the 3 in the back.

92 OG is leggy and viney, ready for me to take the top for a clone and transplant the rest as a future clone mother.

Nurple is the left row of 3 and The Anvil is the middle and right rows of 2.

Here’s the writeup on Nurple by Binary Selections:
"For our third Binary release we’d like to introduce Nurple!

Three is the magic number with this beautiful creation. She was created by crossing a deep purple BlackBerry Kush with a large and funky Nami. We were looking to add some funkiness and frost to the purple berry kush flavor. We like to think that we got that and more…There are three phenotypes to be found:

Green leaf which switches to new dark purple leafage when entering flower with purple calyxes.
Green leaf with purple flower.
Green leaf with green flower.
All of these are densely covered with a carpeting of trichomes. A grape pixie stick sugar candy smell during flower will be found amongst all phenos. It is intoxicatingly sweet and mouth-watering. Usually overpowering surrounding plants with that funky sweet aroma. Expect medium size plants with strong growth structure. Great for training(lst, super-cropping) 1 ounce + per plant in favorable conditions. She can be harvested in 8 weeks, 9 weeks if your looking for something more couchlock. High is quick setting with a feeling of relaxation and euphoria good for watching movies or your favorite show. If taking later it can be very good for night time bud right before bed.

Lineage: BlackBerry Kush x Nami
Harvest: 8-9 weeks
Yield: 1+ ounce
Size: Medium"

The writeup was taken from DC Seed Exchange’s website which is where I got the seeds a few years back.

I got 6 more clones transplanted into 1 gallon pots for clone mom’s. Working on getting more transplanted tomorrow and then getting cuts into their final pots for flower in a few weeks. Going to be busy with 7 autoflower plants and 6 clones flowering at the same time but I’m hoping to take a week off this summer after they’re done to recover and spend some time at our family’s lake house. 92 OG has outgrown everything else that were in solo cups, can’t wait to flower her out.
