For the iron pumping members

My all time favorite. You younger guys may not know who he is. I hope this centers you as much as it has me for decades to come.

Henry definitely showed me the way through some dark times. Thanks for the read.

Same with me.

Thank you, good read

For those of you that don’t want to read the whole thing, here’s my favorite part that turned out to be true in every way.

The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you’re a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs.

Friends may come and go.

But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

Also controversial opinion. Henry’s Black Flag was the best Black Flag.

Back to topic. I don’t lift. Never cared for it. Did in the army to basically socialize as the army was for me very isolating……I listened to Black Flag and they didn’t lol. When I got out I severely needed something to do which lead me to cycling. I view it the same way. 20 miles is still 20 miles.

Nothing gets me going more then blowing past the dudes with there 5000 dollar bikes and there 3-400 bucks worth of cycle gear on my 1990 specialized with down tube shifters and cut off dickies. Just like he said. They do it for vanity and it shows.

F yeah man, the iron never lies. I’ve never been in a really good shape, but I’m taking things more serious this time, I need to get my legs in better shape so I can go back running.
I don’t know how it is in other countries, but here, there’s a music style that talks about going to the gym, it’s so much fun because 80% of the songs they talk about using gear and hooking up with girls, I guess some people take it seriously but I just think it’s fun, nice background to listen to while lifting.

I had no idea Rollins had such a passion, a need for it. Thanks for sharing.

I’m not in great shape and face health issues from the past and as I get older. The iron keeps me grounded and things in perspective.

Life has kicked me so hard in the nuts unexpectedly so many times I found weights are therapeutic for me.

You know what? Here in Brazil we call this ā€œblindĆ£oā€, it’s when the guy closes himself to focus on building his body and focusing, there’s this song about it (as I said, gym rap is not really good, but it’s kinda fun and nice).

I am in no way a fitness nut or have a built body anymore. Weights just seem to give me something other exercise cant or don’t.

Lifetime lifter. Not big at all. I totally hear this. Weights/resistance offer something you can’t get any other way.
