Formula One racing

Ah gonna toss my cards on the table here.

Any one follow F1 let me say Formula 1 as F1 seems to allude to seed breeding?
I am guessing that a larger active group there might be one or two.

It is quite a bit of a circus atmosphere. Back in the 60’s they used to burn a bus at Watkins Glen.

It was the right weekend to go. F1, Willie Nelson 50th anniversary concert, Texas Georgia footballl game.

3 different ravenous hordes descending on the city.

It was a blast.

Hotel rooms sourcing must have been hell.
The last time I was at a F1 race was 1985 in Detroit. I was crew chief for a car in supporting race.
It is much better to watch the race on TV we have a texting group of racers and it is much better than getting beer spilled on you. I have done the rain, snow and oppressive heat at the track it is more enjoyable in a chair.

We were very fortunate that the Mrs had a conference there just before. So we got blocks of discounted rooms. Worked out really nice just off 7th street.

As an aside we watched the football game in a cannabis apothecary with free pizza and beer. I just had to buy a $30 edible.

I love the F1 documentary series that follows the teams. Hard to beat those top money teams for the mid and lower tier teams.

It has current features. Almost looks indy car ish. Could be a prop but normally they have logos of familiarity. Was that in Austin?

Watching drive to survive on Netflix turned me into a big fan of F1. I started watching F1 last year and I don’t miss a race.

One of the on going discussions between us long time followers is that it is becoming more entertainment that true racing.

I live between Virginia international raceway (VIR) and the Martinsville Speedway (aka the Paperclip)

The husband and I dabble. He does mostly road tracks he favors VIR and mid Ohio.

I stick to off-road trails, now that my children are driving age I am getting back into it!

Always found it humorous that you had to go to NC to get to VIR.
My favorite track is Bridgehampton. Turned into a golf course but the memories.
