Thanks for the tips. I shall do my best and we will see what comes of it. :upside_down_face:

Go real easy on the nutrients. I prefer a mix with at least fifty percent soil, And I add perlite to the soil until it is as light and fluffy as potting mix, which i also use. Chicken shit pellets and fishbone meal Are my favorite two editions. I do start with a super soil that I made five years ago now. Every now and again I top it off by adding something new to it. This year it was paramagnetic rock dust. Years ago when I started the mix, it was taken straight out of True Living Organics book. Some ingredients we didn’t have locally and I didn’t get feather meal until just last year ( added it instead of blood meal) Just substitute something you do have for something you don’t. Go by the numbers. Npk. If the soil is too strong cut it with seedling soil. I would never use straight supersoil for sativa. Super soil, garden soil, compost and castngs.
But you don’t need that fancy soil. Add some good compost and just a little bit of worm castings. I do 12.5% of the mix with a 50 50 blend of worm poo/ perlite for my 12%… So it’s actually six point 25 percent worm poo. And I am never that accurate. I always eyeball.

This may be a silly question, but I’ll ask it anyway. For those who have grown these (and other strains) whose buds are so light and airy, with leaves interspersed throughout: How do you trim them? …Or do they even get trimmed? If you’re smoking them, do you smoke it all – leaves and buds together?

Depends on the person some trim a bit some don’t however you tend to trim stuff like that less Vs dense nug stuff though

Thanks for the tips. I have a 1:1:1 mix(peat : castings/compost : perlite/rice hulls) w/ rock dusts, kelp, & tomato tone mixed in. It works well as a ā€œwater onlyā€ potting soil w/ moderate feeders. Heavy feeders or plants that like to go 10-11 weeks need a couple of small topdressings, but nothing major. It’s been recycled & reamended a few times. I’ve been trying to mix up the nutrient sources each time I reamend… shooting for ā€œa little bit of everythingā€ after a few cycles. It puts out some nice plants. Not quite as strong as a super soil. There’s some turface in there too (kitty litter sized fired clay), roots love clinging on to those little pellets.

I usually cut it down w/ promix (25% soil mix & 75% promix) for seedlings & potting up clones, eventually transplanting to 100% strength. I was thinking of maybe going for 40% soil or maybe 50% with promix making up the remainder as the permanent home for the breads… could cut it down even more and brew up some light teas or topdress w/ full strength soil if they’re looking hungry.

Seems pretty close to what you’re recommending… unless I’m completely misinterpreting… minus the actual topsoil/garden soil. I’ll see if I can get ahold of some. It certainly wouldn’t hurt.

Sounds like the mix is going to work well.

This was an awesome ride, and im out of likes

Growing the equatorial strains indoors is a project of love no doubt for anyone that decides on that journey. I love seeing them shine in the outdoors though, just natural vibes

Bless up :raised_hands:
