Free Jamaican Lambsbread (Vibes Collective)

Another possibility is Shashamane is just a regular Jamaican hybrid brought over to Ethiopia by the Caribbean Rastafarians. There’s an old Indica hybrid in Jamaica called the Alaskan that very well could be what they’re growing in the Shashamane village.

Smoked Shashamene, which was sold in the coffeeshop years ago. Had a nice cerebral high, but was different than the old Jamaican sold in the coffeeshop early 90s, which was more like acid.

Indentured workers from Sierra Leone brought in 1862 drugtype to Jamaica, what was found in British archives.

Was that a coffeeshop in Amsterdam?

I always struggle finding any landrace sativa in Amsterdam coffeeshops

Nope Rotterdam. Early 90s was great. All kind of import from Philippines, Indonesia, Africa, Thailand, Jamaica, South-America was available. Nowadays its all Cali.

I found a presumed Jamaican sativa in Amsterdam, Baba coffeshop, 20 years ago, with Thai, South African, Durban and something else i don’t remember…
It was pretty bad weed, badly dried. The Jamaican (labeled Norman Manley) contained seeds. I cultivated them, got a few females that never matured. In early December, it melted in the frost and had buds like pencils…
In hindsight, I would have done better to throw those seeds in the freezer…
The following year, my friends returned to the same coffee shop and couldn’t find it again…

Damn I’m jealous of you guys. Here i was walking around the coffeeshops of Amsterdam asking where to find landrace sativas and being met with an endless cavalcade of confused looking faces.

At least you can still find good hash and a smidge of imported jamaican or thai

The Sashamane community attracts people from all over the world, not all of them with virtuous intentions, and unfortunately you can find many hybrids there as well…

It’s exactly as I remember…
And it was sold as an outdoor…
And it was very very garbage weed…

@Cr0Barron i saw it by chance, I was in the bars looking for the Dutch classics of those years…

I remember I had three or four times Thai and also Jamaican in the mids 90ies in Adams Coffeeshops and it was always disappointing. Brown dry crumbling weed with bad taste and even worse effect. What arrived here in Europe was often bad. But the seeds would be interesting today.

In Rotterdam you had better quality for a much lower price at the time. Kadinsky coffeeshop had chocolate Thai on their menu back then.
