Ok hereās the deal:
I had a 12 pack of elev8 strawberry snowcone back from when they came out. I sprouted 2 back then & ended up with a male and female that both looked pretty killer. I crossed them and made some F2s.
Just a few months ago, I sprouted the remaining 10 to make an open pollenated F2s so I wouldnāt run out of beans. Whilst that was happening, I put a clone of a selected female from the 1st F2s I made out there. This is her:
She stinks heavily of sweet strawberries and will knock your ass down if you overdo it. Expect 8-9 weeks in flower. Do not fall for the late explosion of pistilsā¦ its a trap, you will likely end up with mold if you try and let that late flush ripen up. You may see a banana or two around 8.5-9 weeks, but sheās done by then anyway. So far they have been sterile. I tried to reverse her twice and ended up with a shitload of pollenā¦ but it was all sterile too. The few crosses Iāve made with snowcone have turned out fineā¦ but the late banana gene is there so probably not the best choice for a full fledged breeding project. Donāt be afraid to hit with some N and Ca/Mg the first few weeks of flower or sheāll fade early.
Next 5 dibs get a flip of Strawberry Snowcone open pollinated F2 and flip of whatever-the-hell you call an F2 crossed w/ an F1.
