Do they flower under 18/6 veg? Or is it like they finish flower in under 50 days

My understanding from research is a full auto crossed with a photo makes fast flower f1 seeds, then f2 is a mix of auto and fast flower seeds. The seeds that don’t auto flower in veg will flower a few weeks faster 6-9 depending on strain when put in a 12/12 light cycle. The fast flowers can then be selfed to make more fast flower seeds that won’t auto flip

From my understanding, the autoflower gene is recessive meaning the first cross (f1) to a photo will result in no autos. It wouldn’t be until you made f2s that you would start to see that auto trait appear.

So a 70 day fully ready plant can be made into a 50 day fully ready plant?

Looks like you are correct. Full photo x full auto = F1 fast flower seeds. Then those seeds bred together will make a mix of auto and fast flower

Also? Is this just for hybrid combined with hybrid? Because isnt this the reason why indica/hybrids are.combined with long flowering sativas? To make “faster flower.”

I think it’s 6-9 weeks of flower plus veg time. So the fast part saves 1-3 weeks of time from what I remember. But there’s also the rudealis gene so that might impact the smoke (some people say auto smoke is worse than pure photos)
6-9 weeks is a big variance…thats not really “faster,” for many hybrids…seems almost gimicky
Of course, i havent seen one grown and harvested at 42-49 days…so idk, i was just curious about how its actually faster

Fully agreed. I’ve got 2 fast flowers from RQS and will be running them eventually and will have actual experience.
After research, it seemed like a very small gain and I won’t be getting more unless they are special

12/12 from seed and the plants still take 14-21 days to flip, but no ruderalis in there, is more appealing to me…but yeah i have only smoked a few autos, and they werent great, thats why i have that opinion…working on my first grow of some now actually to try out for myself though

If you pollinate an auto with pollen from an auto you will get auto seeds.
