Freeman’s Stash - KC Brains Cyber Crystal

Alrighty I hope everyone had a good week. Just wanted to stop in and give a brief update.
I will be top dressing within the week and will update to what I go with. Stay tuned. In the meantime I thought I would brew up a CT

I started a CT 36 hours ago or so. Will apply within the hour.
1cup Malibu Compost
1cup CWC
2cups Oly Mountain Compost
1/4 cup alfalfa
1/4 cup kelp
Sprinkle of humic acid
Splash of hydrolysate
Splash of blackstrap

Still awaiting roots on the clones I presume another week or so.

Here is a shot of how they responded to the training. Now everyone is at a more even canopy before flip.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and I will keep everyone posted of any major updates! :green_heart:

I was only referring to the development of the cyber crystal not the thread itself, you had a far better germination rate than I have and I expected they would thrive.
Out of ten seeds only one has grown although they all popped in water they just didn’t come through. Probably my own fault r.e temp
I presume they are all old stock as the single Mimosa I got free has sprouted after three days.
I’ll leave you to it anyway.

@Afghaniman Thanks for returning I mean no harm btw. Tag along if you like. I will be sharing these seeds I produce if you would like more to play with. The genetics are there even if a single plant may not show the desired characteristics. If only finding the keeper was my goal I would have purchased 20 to start and started them along side these.

My goal here is dual sided. Genetics to pass along to anyone who wants them and to keep me busy finding that precious keeper. No time limits necessary just documented work. I have full confidence in the company and would be shocked if a winner was not found within 10-20. Maybe not the exact match to what I know of, but quality smoke none the less.

I would love to see what you have going if you manage to log your work here, it’s a great place.
I have yet to see any other Cyber Crystal grows so it would be nice to see what others produce!

Thanks, I’ll start another Cyber thread when I have more stuff for it.
I’ve just put my last two packs in water and when they pop I was going to transfer straight to a rockwool cube as I’m struggling to find a potting mix of anything decent.
My success rate at popping them is 100% but beyond that only one in ten has grown after planting.
My Mimosa has had no issues sprouting after germination nor some Superskunk. But these cyber crystal I don’t know, easy to germinate and grow but sprouting another matter.
Do you think it’s because of age? Do old seeds take longer to sprout despite opening quickly…

Did your seed packet have a hologram and serial number?

Maybe fresh seed supplies are just what’s required.

All the best…

@Afghaniman I have always had better success starting seeds in top soil. Solo red cups work great perfect or 1gal pots. 1gal pots are about perfect size before transplanting into a potting mix. Potting mixs usually have nutrients which young seedlings don’t need. Nutrients should only be added typically around week 3 or so from sprouting. What I have done here is not typical and would do it differently.

Top soil to start. Potting mix used only after about week 3 should get your survival rates up. Any decent potting mix from the store should work for vegetative growth in my opinion. Flowering is another story and requires some finessing.

Update 5/12/24 Mothers Day
Alrighty all it’s update time! I was fortunate enough to get most of my blumat system set up. I am still awaiting my 5in drip rings but here is what I have at the moment.

I decided to defoliate and add a fresh layer of WC. I will also top feed mid week and will update with that. Here is round two of training before adding another compost tea! They love the teas btw!

These 10inch drip rings are attwched to the 9in carrots stuck into each pot. Those carrots are connected to the 8mm irrigation line coming from my reservoir. I have two lines coming from my 20gal tote feeding all tents. Each feed line has a shut off valve as well. So far so good! Flipping to flower this Sunday!🫶:green_heart:

Thanks, I think most Cyber seeds are old stock and a few fresh ones is what’s needed.
I’ve never had issues germinating like this before and the fact that the fresh seeds like the Mimosa sprouted quickly and easy with same conditions point to age being an issue.
They must be 30 years old what I have here!
Thx again for your kind offer which I’ll take you up on when it’s time.
The one that did sprout has caught up with the mimosa already, I just hope it’s a girl…

@Afghaniman
Most older stock need some hormones to help boost germination success rates. I believe there are a few good products for purchase to help. Some good ol aloe works wonders and should be an area of research if it has yet to be. Hormones and enzymes are your best friend for older stock.

I hope the little one is a lady as well! :crossed_fingers:

Allllright everyone yet another update. 🫶

May 19, 2024
Just for starters I want to say I am in love with Blumat. No issues at all the plants are exploding.

These pups were getting too big for their britches so I had to start flowering before it was too late… Taking more clones as back up just in case I don’t get roots on any others.

Flower Day 1 - May 17, 2024.

Top dress added
1 tbl spoon Alfalfa Meal
1 tbl spoon Kelp
1 tbl spoon Oyster Shell Flower
1 tbl spoon Gypsum
1 tbl spoon Fish Bone Meal
1 tbl spoon Silica
1 tbl spoon Rock Dust
1 tbl spoon Gnarley Barley Flower

This was evenly spread across the surface of each pot and worked into the top couple inches of soil.

Here is a shot of day two after top dress. You can see how the biology is just exploding! :green_heart:

Here are a couple shots before another round of training and defoliation!

Clones taken are still hanging on. No signs of roots yet but they all do have areas of interest. I have a couple days to take more from each female and will update next weekend with all the info! Thanks for tuning in again all! I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!:green_heart:

Good luck with the clones. look like they’re showing promising signs. I’m sure they’ll root soon enough with the care you’re giving them.

Think you might have stretch and height issues coming your way. I hope you dont. Looking all happy

@FieldEffect Thank you very much, it is a marathon not a sprint! I hope you stay tuned for the finals!

@ScaryAd3862 Thanks for the positive vibes! 🫶 I have roots on two of the ladies so far. One is still taking her time. I believe #4 has yet to show roots. I did take 3 of each so chances are good.

@jesuswearsflares Indeed the problem is real. I shall bend as many as I have to to keep it in line! Thanks for stopping in!

Flower Day 10

I wanna start by giving thanks to those who gave everything to allow someone like me to do what I do in a somewhat civilized society. Thank you very much to you all and to those who serve us.

I have been away trying to enjoy what slim days I have all year to unwind a bit. I was unable to clear under the canopy but thought I would give an update still.

Here’s a shot of the stud.

Here are some randoms.

Looks like CC#1 has yet to root.

Again. I say. I WILL trim all under canopy vegetation tomorrow evening when lights come back on. I have two of the three ladies I took clones from with roots. I will edit this post in the am with some shots of the clones.

edit A few Hours Later…

I thank you all for stopping in and spending some time here! Have a great weekend all! 🫶💚

Sunday June 2nd
Flower Day 16

Hello fellow family and friends! Here is another update to this journey. I was looking into info on my charts and noticed my lights would turn on at 9pm and would turn off at 10pm and back on at 12am… I was able to fix this in the app by changing my cycles from a 24hour cycle to turning on and off at specific times. :fist: I don’t see any issues yet from any ladies so being it was in the first couple weeks I was able to get away with it. The DLI drop was enough to induce flowering obviously. 🤷

With that said here is a shot of the tent.

I did say I would trim the under canopy right!?

Here is a few shots of the stud. I will likely shake him vigorously next week and then harvest the remaining pollen for anyone interested or later projects. HMU if you are interested! 🫶

Remaining photo dump of the ladies.

I did want to mention I’m acquiring everything for tissue culture. Hopefully I am able to culture all the genetics I want to keep rather than having a million mothers to tend with.

I am starting another Compost Tea on Monday. I will go with the exact recipe as last batch in case anyone was wondering.:green_heart::heart:

More lab supplies due to arrive within the week. Fingers crossed I can have it by next update. :crossed_fingers:
Clones are all still alive and well. Just trying to get the roots as healthy as possible before transplant into pots. I hope everyone had a great weekend and best wishes for the week ahead! :green_heart:

The genetics behind Cyber Cristal is somewhat of a mystery. I can’t find any information about it online. It does not appear to be a pure Indica and from what I know about KC he crossed most of his varieties to a Brazilian type that he had. I’ve only grown his mango but it was very potent. Almost unpleasant to a point. That’s a 3-way cross of Brazilian, Thai and Afghan. I’m interested to see how this goes for you!

@Chara Thank you for joining in! I too am excited to see what comes of it all. There definitely is some hybridization characteristics as the indica does not appear true as you said. There are a few good lines from this that could be expressed I would assume. The mango and afghan from this breeder consistently get mentioned from reputable community members/breeders so I’m happy to shine some light for everyone. Thank you again for joining the ride! 🫶

Interested to see how your tissue culture experiment goes. Would be nice to miniize the number of mother plants taking up space.

Looks like your plants are happy!

Having had a long look around I may have discovered the mystery breeding partner which is an Indica? x K. C. 606

Also been wondering about the fem version of the strain which also states KC 606 (20%) x Indica (80%) as the cross type but which makes sense I think.

KC 606 (70% indica/30% Sativa) is a super rare indica dominant hybrid strain created through an unknown combination of hybrid strains due to a high level of breeder secrecy according to https://mr-hanf.de
Sounds ever more interesting…
I’m pretty certain the Indica in question is an Afghan.

@FieldEffect Thanks for the drop in! :fist: I think tissue culture is gonna change my operating procedures for sure. I don’t like having too many mothers to keep up with not to mention space. I will be doing a DIY laminar flow hood in case anyone was interested. I will upload all of that once completed. I have a few more items to purchase before I start.

@Afghaniman Hey, glad you made it back! This is the first I’ve heard about the 606 but I haven’t dove down the rabbit hole just yet. I will try to do some research this week and see if I can pull anymore info. I would really like to start 100 or more and do a good sweep of the genetic line and try to isolate the outliers. Thanks for the info!
