Fresh seedling bent over

I planted this seed 1 week ago into an octopot.
Top watered it 1 time at planting.
It’s been under a 500W LED set on level 3 at 18" distance (390 ppfd).

Should I leave it bent over like this? Or try to upright it somehow?
Thanks

you can add soil at this stage to stand her up.
Your light is probably too far away. You probably dont have an oscillating fan.

Light is 18" away… should I bring closer?
Two oscillating fans and 1 stationary fan in the tent.

yeah if your seedling fell over and you have an oscillating fan in there I would say your light is too far.
I would use soil to right her and move the light down a lil bit.

If it’s 390 ppfd that’s more than enough for a seedling… just need to prop it up with more soil and make sure environmental conditions are on point. Higher humidity early on and make sure the soil isn’t bone dry

I’ve found that twist ties work fairly well for seedling support

Not being judgy but what is the light? Did you build it, buy it or get it from amazon… again not judging because you have to start somewhere and my first two grows were under blurple … i ask cuz 500w on amazon most usually means 180w ish… id say prop it up and if it grows taller before ot starts trying to grow out, then move your light closer

Agreed, been there, little thing needs more light. Plenty of room to add some soil and get them upright again, fashion a stake too.

It’s an AC Infinity EVO6 500W light… only used for 1 grow

I lowered the light from 18" down to 8" and kept it at level 3… didn’t measure ppfd
Also, propped the little girl up with some dirt

I have experienced this with a few of my seedlings lately. Just thought it was weak stem that needed to build up more… Thanks for posting this and helping me as well!

If you do the staking move then don’t forget to untie it later.

I use a wood skewer and a bread tie for weak seedlings, til they can catch up and stand on their own.

I’ve been growing for a while now and this is my biggest problem seedlings doing this, I don’t get the best recovery rates. I appreciate psillyrabbit and everyone’s different methods. I’m going to try them out.

Had this problem with a few Haze seedlings…
Took a piece of plant wire and made a little support piece.

IME most of them do that. You can prop em up if you want but they’ll stand back up eventually.
The real danger (again, IME) is rubbing against the container edge while laid over, especially if the container is thin-walled.
Careful with that light!

Just my opinion, but if just that one seedling, seems like quite a waste of electricity having it under a 500 watt right now, even dimmed. You could prob pick up a cheap 100 watter to get through a week or two, if you can get it in withough having to take other one out, which I get would be a pain.

Here’s one one on Amazon for $35

I’m doing the whole grow… seed to harvest, in the tent with octopots

Ah, ok. I was thinking even if had a few in there could group together under a 100 watt, but yeah, prob wouldnt cut it with plants spread out.

Btw, I have the same light, EVO 6. Havent used it yet, but plan on breaking it out after this grow is finished.
