Anyone else frisbee golf round these parts?
I’m a big fan of disc golf! I don’t get out as often as I used to, but I’m signed up for a weekly get together during the fall season which starts in a couple weeks. I’m not a competitive person so I rarely keep score and never joined the PDGA like some of my friends. I just enjoy the walk in the park while smoking weed with good company… I have developed some proficiency over the years. My drives aren’t the greatest but I can putt alright.
I bought my first discs in the late 80s but really got into it in the 90s. My friends and I would travel to see concerts and we’d find random courses to play along the way. I’ve been able to play in: California, Las Vegas, New Mexico, and a very large number of Midwestern courses. Not as much out East but I played one in a state park in Maryland that was fun.
Morley Field in San Diego was founded in the 1970s. Hole sponsored by 1-800-CANNABIS
For years my “local” course was Kaposia Park in South St. Paul, MN. I volunteered a number of times to clean up, install new pin placements, etc. The highlight of the course was “George’s Gorge”. It’s only 245’ but you’re throwing from the top of one hill to a very narrow access at the top of another
Harmony Bends in Columbia, MO, absolutely kicked my ass. This hole is nearly 1000’ long from the back tees!!!
Hell yeah I threw a round yesterday! Damn it’s hot though!
Anyone else use vibram discs?
Come thru to fallasburg here in MI if you haven’t been and find yourself in the area
It’s the course I grew up on
It’s one of the better courses in MI imo
just played there last week
Midrange and putter, if I’m not using my bootleg gratefuldead wizard im using the vibram
Bertha Brock is a close second
It’s newer and not more then 40 min away from fallasuburg
I might like Bertha over fallasuburg idk
I occasionally play have a few courses around but none really truely local but still a couple within a 20-25min drive, my sister has a course a block away from her house so last time i was there i took out the nephews which i think will be a reoccurring trend.
One of the funner courses ive played was over on saltspring island, the dingers and trudging through a rainforest was a welcome change from standard grass and baskets.
Those robber pro tee pads sound sick
I don’t think I’ve ever played on a course with them
Either dirt or pavement
20-25 isn’t too bad a drive considering, at least joe that gas is somewhat cheaper lol
I gotta get out more this year before summer is over
just clear the day and enjoy it
shits been so hectic
So you mostly got open field type courses by you?
