Froggy's Pharmhouse

You’re probably right on time to chop both. both of my Balochistan Red females developed some bananas this last run. One at 5 weeks which was immediately chopped, and one at 9-10 weeks while waiting for seeds to ripen. Not so worried about that one.

I think these outdoor Heirlooms are going to need a bit of work to make them Indoor Ready. They are a lot of fun to run but one of the challenging things with these landraces.

Thanks for giving the Tahoe Red a run. I look forward to your smoke report on her.

Thanks Coma, I’m looking forward to smoking both of these plants! The Tahoe’s buds are all pretty round and dense feeling with a peppery aroma at the moment. The Maui is slightly lime/vanilla smelling, not too much cherry on this pheno at least.

I can tell I won’t yield much (smaller pots, didn’t top) but the nugs are going to be beautiful. I also grabbed some Grove Bags recently, which have been touted on threads here and elsewhere. After the plants are dried to my liking, I will trim and put them into the Grove Bags to see how well they cure.

The bud dried for about 5 days and has been curing for 2. I hear this is probably the best time to press rosin so I figured why not. I got a pretty abysmal yield from the grow, only a half ounce from each plant! I’m not sweating though, since this stuff will be pretty well cured by the time I get back from vacation and my next plant will be finishing up soon after. Update coming soon on what’s currently in the grow tent!

I pressed a gram of each strain. My rosin press is as basic as they come, so I’m lucky if I get 15 percent yields. I still like the process, taste and smell a lot though.

Tahoe Red - Lots of reddish hairs on the nugs. Can’t really put my finger on the smell profile, definitely some pleasant pine in there though.

Maui Wowie - The bag of this stuff smells like a fruit smoothie and is pretty sticky, doesn’t look too incredible yet but I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

Got about the same yield from each, a tiny bit more from the Maui. Both smell great, the Tahoe Rosin was a bit darker and still sticky and hard to roll into a ball after a short chill in the fridge, so I dabbed it right away lol. Nothing bad to say about it, sweet and piney. Here’s a little ball of Maui rosin, should make for one awesome nightcap dab. It’ll stay in the fridge until then.

Alright, so usually we leave spiders alone when we find them in our house and I even tolerate them to a certain point in the grow tent. Free pest control, after all! However, I nearly shat myself coming across this huge girl in my dark basement in the dead of night…

Wetland Giant Wolf Spider - Looks pregnant, caught and released far into my yard.

Question for everyone, what’s your usual protocol regarding spiders? Are you friendly to them or do you want them far, far away from your grow?

Edit: Oh yeah, that Maui rosin was fucking awesome. Might be a good strain to run with some Oregon Huckleberry to squish most nugs into rosin.

I am very allergic to spiders, but tolerate them in my grow. Unless it is a black widow, those can die in a fire as far as I am concerned. I usually get a lot of them outside, but I haven’t seen many this year.

Figured I’d better do an update before I go on vacation for a week; hopefully these plants are still alive when I get back! All my buddy has to do is water them once while I’m gone (and maybe chop that Jack Herer for me lol).

Group shot! Three around the perimeter are some Spock’s Breath (Romulan X Peanut Butter Breath, gained through a trade with @wherethefriesat. Thank you to her!) Other two plants are Auto Jack Herer.

Auto Jack Herer getting close (unknown breeder), not extremely thick with trichs but still looking and smelling good.

Hey hey gang, I’m back from my vacation with an update. My buddy did a pretty good job following my instructions with the plants.

Group shot - 3 Spock’s Breath progressing well. The second Auto Jack Herer in the back right is moving along exactly how an auto should.

Close-up of the mature Auto Jack, maybe a few more days left. Once I can see the tiniest bit of amber with my naked eye I’m going to chop.

I also had these bad boys waiting for me when I got home, thanks @WeTokeChronic! I’ll keep you updated when I pop some of these.

Edit: Maui and Tahoe are alllllmost done curing, will have a smoke report shortly!

Hey, u still got those seeds? I’d like to play around with em

I sure do. I was actually just thinking about them earlier, wondering if there’s any “gold in them hills” lol.

How many do you think your project requires?

Well I’m in az and we just legalized last fall, had a 3 month veg grow get cooked from my swamp cooler on my greenhouse failing a week and half ago on watering day so already itching to start over. Since we did legalize out here and having experience from being up in Cali on the big farms years ago I seem to be the community go to guy for questions and advice out here now lol so I guess it comes down to if your wanting to keep it limited kicking down a few that I can play around with and give some strain/pheno feedback or if u were wanting to send some love to az with some I can share and give to my local community for those around me trying to learn how to grow.

I will private message you. Hopefully the seeds aren’t all hermies, or I won’t be able to set foot in AZ for years to come lol.

Haha right on! Honestly I don’t mind Hermie’s as long as it’s not predominate trait with majority still female flowers, I spent a lot of time in my garden though so don’t mind plucking the bananas with toe nail clippers and if a few get passed me I have some female seeds from it. Last grow I had giving tree(lifesaver x platinum og/gsc) and purple panty dropper ( mutanuskan mist x Oregon grape x purple haze) herm on me from heat stress and light leak in nighttime( they were right next to each other) and had some nice plants growing from the seeds before they got roasted, gifted and traded most of em away and now kicking myself I didn’t save just a few more haha

Smoke report time. These are of course my opinions and I know I didn’t grow them to their full potential, so bare with me.

Maui Wowie (Cherry Bomb) from Sebring’s store:

Like I mentioned before, not too much Cherry on this particular plant. It’s got a slightly banana and lime aroma, and metallic/cakey flavor (which apparently the breeder was going for, so great job there). Almost so metallic that it reminds me of smoking out of a soda can in my younger (and dumber) days…bonus points for nostalgia lol. The effects are Sativa dominant, about 70/30. Nice morning time smoke to get some slight euphoria and appetite going with a cup of coffee. Pretty mellow stone and not heart racing at all.

Potency: 6.5/10

Tahoe Red from @Comacus:

This bud is a bit earthy and sweet, I like it. The most unique aspect is the strong Ginger aroma after grinding up. Indica leaning 80/20 and definitely good for the evening time. I’ve fallen into a pointless laughing fit or two after a few pipes of this lol.

Potency: 7/10

The floor is now open for any and all questions.

Tahoe red sounds fun giggle weed is always a nice trait to find in a strain.

Alright we got a pretty full tent here folks. Thankfully, I’ve got a 4 x 2 for flower on the way as we speak. I’ll have the rest of that set-up ready by the time the Spock’s Breath is in flower, probably looking at a long-style 250 - 350 watt LED that will hopefully get my yields up.

Spock’s Breath, each topped a couple days ago. @wherethefriesat
This one’s a bit skinnier and lankier than the others. Top leaves drooping worries me a little bit, but I figure it may be from the topping. I’ll feed them next watering just to make sure.

This Spocks a bit lower and bushier. Nice big leaves.

…and this one is the bushiest of the three. Very compact. I had to defoliate down low already to keep the leaves off the soil.

Auto Jack Herer (at day 87 now). No amber yet, I’m expecting to see some soon though. I hope it smokes as good as it looks/smells.

The second Auto Jack. This is in a smaller pot so we’ll see how she does. Just starting to flower.

Went ahead and chopped the Jack Herer at about day 95.

These look beautiful! I am gonna have to give them a smell :kissing_smiling_eyes:

Big boy nugs, but that will be tasty smoke!

The Huckleberry is long gone, my man! I’ve got like 5 or 6 more seeds of it so realistically one more grow of it coming…I’m waiting until I can really do them justice because I think it was my favorite strain to grow so far.

The Jack has a really strong aroma, definitely going to have to come check it out lol.
