What smells are you getting off them @froggys_pharms?

Little skunky, earthy and coffee scent going on. Will update as they dry!

Plants are still hanging in the tent. A day or two ago I brought one of the lowest buds up into the garage to quick dry and eventually test. Now…I thought some of the bud formations looked a little ‘seedy’ during the end of the grow but I’ve never had this happen so I wasn’t sure. Somehow, the damn things went to seed! (At least this one plant, will update with the other two soon). This small bud had these healthy seeds in it, as well as a few immature green ones. None of the plants seemed to herm…I guess I’m a novice breeder now? Still looking like it’ll be good smoke though.

Very interesting on the seeds. Try to look for a male flower on the inside of the bud as you break up a bud. Any other male plants around recently?

Looks like a nice bud, and a nice cure.

I’ll have to keep checking for male flowers as they dry. The only possible male plants I can think of are the 1 Paki that was male but I got out pretty quick and never saw pollen. Or, could be from letting my brother check out my plants. He also grows at his buddies place and they may have had some males go too long in their last grow, I’ll have to ask him.

Day 1 of the trim. Are these the biggest buds I’ve ever grown? Yes. Do they have a shit ton of seeds? Also yes. The most important question though…do they smell dank as fuck? Hell yes!

Sticky, skunky, slightly peppery, and almost creamy aroma on some of these nugs. They’re definitely smokable, and pretty damn smooth. No cough or unpleasant effects from smoking. The high is pretty good, not too sedating or psychedelic but the cure might change that. A few shots for your viewing pleasure. I’ll get some nicer bud shots soon, my camera wants to focus on my glove more than the buds lol.

Absolutely beautiful! The black gloves and weights keeps it dark and sinister. Still lookin over your harvest… really nice Trichome Farming. You the Froggy!
The Trichome sparkle is there and the smell is DAF, I say hell yes! Nice grow.
Ps. If you need a place for those seeds… kicks a bucket over  what? I would drop’em in water today, if they are viable just watch closely at the branch points for hermi flowers and use gauze at the main nodes to restrict any that grow from releasing pollen.

Great job, and great looking buds! Wonder if the male opened a couple flowers or if there were a few stealth male flowers in the buds. If the were in the buds you may be able to spot them as you are breaking up buds.

I’m definitely going to save as many seeds as I can and try to pay it forward with these!

Alright everyone, trimming is all done. Had to take a day off since we got 9 inches of snow on Sunday so I was mostly occupied with that.

What I’ve found: Someone correct me if I sound ignorant, but I don’t believe there are any male flowers in these buds. I think they may have hermed from stress and produced seeds. Are these seeds feminized/likely to also herm now?
One plant is very seeded (with the peppery profile), and the other two aren’t seeded as bad (more lemony and creamy profiles). The less seeded plants are already pretty damn pleasant to smoke and smell amazing. The peppery pheno is not so special as of yet.

The yield

Some of the seeds, the majority are still in the buds.

@froggys_pharms it is a good sign that you have not found any male flowers yet. Keep an eye out when you break open lower flowers. I’ve seen them hide in a bud before.

I think the seeds probably will be female based on what you are describing. Then it can depend a little on what to expect from the offspring, and whether it was light stress or heavier stress that caused the male flowers or bananas.

I grew an A11 plant that started throwing bananas over the entire plant at 5 weeks into flower. That is more likley a hermie trait when you see male flowers or bananas all over the plant. I would not have grown the seeds from this plant, and ended up chopping it.

On the other hand, if some sort of stress, like light leaks, environmental, soil ph, or some other stressor caused only one or two male flowers I wouldn’t view that as a hermie plant, and would give those seeds a try. I think they would also be all female.

Hopefully others will chime in too. In any case if you choose to run them keep a close eye on them.

Great looking buds.

Sounds good @Comacus, thank you! The Paki was definitely a success.

Reporting on the smoke, which I’ve been testing daily.
Might be kind of a weird way to describe it, but these buds really do taste and feel “Old School”. Some light hints of citrus like I’ve mentioned earlier, but over all it has an earthy and skunky taste.
As far as effects; it makes the body feel nice and relaxed. Mostly Indica feel but in moderate amounts it doesn’t induce tiredness. The head effects are great, slightly euphoric, eyes red and very glassy. It induces a high amount of absentmindedness in me, more so than other strains. So I would be careful not to smoke too much or that absentmindedness can turn into full blown, stoned confusion lol. Will be sharing more pictures when I get to smoking the colas, gotta save them for last.

Great smoke report @froggys_pharms!

I just took a closer look at the lower buds above, and I think I see the source of the pollen. It looks like a couple bananas that I can see. Can not tell 100% but it looks like a banana on the tip of the left bud, and just down from the top of the second.

Looks like some nice smoke, and it seems we are all hunting for that old school buzz too.

Ahhh I got you. I initially thought those were just dry leaves left behind by my messy trim job.
Thanks for passing that knowledge along!

Hey everyone, this past month has been pretty insane for me. Now that I’m more settled into the new house I’m going to start setting up the grow and get back into it. I’m thinking about these for my next round, mixed strain grow for a little more variety this time.
