2 Fem Maui Wowie and 3 Tahoe Red seeds soaking in water now. The next grow has begun, I will keep the updates coming!

Grow number 4 has officially commenced! All seeds (except for 1 Maui) were sporting tails before they went into the soil. Not too worried about that, should still pop even if a day or two after the others.

That temp was only a few seconds after plugging the light in, although my basement here could use some better insulation soon.

…and now for something completely different.
Rosin!
Got myself an entry level rosin press, Dulytek DM800. I’ve only done a couple presses using some colas from the Paki grow. Have only been getting 10% return so far, but I’m hoping with some fresher buds and dialed in technique I can reach 20% with this press. I’m going to need a better camera for future hashporn.
First ever press, 1 gram in.

Second press, 3 grams in and a nice pull n’ snap texture.

Alright so this growing environment is definitely going to be an adjustment…
Of the seeds shown above, only 1 has sprouted out of the dirt! It’s been up since day 2, the other 4 are stil sleeping/dead at day 5. Not giving up on them prematurely and I’ve added a little space heater into the tent if that’s the issue.
It’s not a problem for me to reach into the seed drawer for some more beans either though. Hopefully I didn’t forget how to grow during the couple months break I took lol.

I had a similar challenge recently with my Strawberry LSD seeds. I got 0/5 the first try.

Did my new custom seed soak, and still nothing so I carefully cracked the pointy end on all 5 seeds. Guess what 5/5 will be planted tonight.

Even with sanding and soaking, they shells were super tough. May try it on them.

I’ll probably give that a shot. Just strange since 4/5 sprouted tails but then gave up when they hit the dirt lol.

I forgot about the tails. If they made tails probably won’t help to crack them although Snowhigh has talked about gently removing the seed husk, and the germinating the little seedling either on soil or a moist paper towel.

That GA/Saltpeter seems to help seeds that just sprout a tap root, and then stop. It is pretty common with older seeds.

I’ve had the same thing happen with all kinds of seeds, don’t have a fix for yah, just wanted you to know your not alone. :+1: when I encounter this problem I put the remaining seeds for popping in a mud mix of seedling starter soil in a 2 inch deep baking pan filled 1-1/2 inches deep. The seeds are 12-24 hours pre-soak in bottled water that has been shaken vigorously for 30 second to pack the water with as much o2 as possible, seeds are stirred into the mud mix. Set it in a warm place and wait, some seeds pop and some never will.

Interesting method might just give it a go.

About a week after sprout, here is the sole Tahoe Red. Ive got replacements for the other seeds germinating as well. They’re going to be planted tomorrow.

We might need a full reset here soon, with new soil mixed up. The stuff I used was probably not the most fresh and I didn’t amend well enough. The 2.5 week old Tahoe has been yellow and stunted for a week now. The other Tahoe has also stayed teeny. The two Maui’s are faring a bit better and have been growing, just some weird waviness in their leaves. Those two will probably get transplanted soon. I’ll admit I clearly haven’t been giving my tent enough love!

Day after transplant, all seems to have gone well. Tahoes are still struggling a bit, hopefully the nute boost I gave the soil helps. They’ll hopefully all explode in their bigger pots.

Happy 4/20 everyone! Plants are perking up a little bit. If only I started this grow 4 months ago haha. Enjoying some rosin and live resin today. Cheers!

Plants are indeed perking up, and looking a bit greener. The two Maui with the thinner leaves, the Tahoe with wider leaves on the top right. The little Tahoe in the middle didn’t quite bounce back to the point where I felt it was ready for a bigger pot. Instead of ditching it, I went ahead and transplanted it into a corner of our little greenhouse in the backyard. We will see how the prairie sun and soil treat it. Gonna have to keep it trained low if it does grow, don’t need the neighbors eyeballing it lol.

Well they definitely found the nutes! All 3 are looking healthier and growing at a decent pace. Just realized the strains in this grow share a theme of American geography as well lol.

What a change! I have that happen a lot. For whatever reason they sometimes struggle in the solo cups but then when they get new soil, and a new pot they explode!

I’m almost thinking about saying “screw it” and skipping the Solo cups next grow. We will have to see what happens!

About to flip to flower, I know the Mauis will be stretching like crazy. No topping this run.
