About a week into flower. 1 Maui and the 1 Tahoe in the tent are looking female!
@Sebring I’m not sure if anyone else has had this come up, but one of the Fem Mauis turned out Male. Just wanted to share that knowledge.

Update on the Tahoe that I put in the backyard greenhouse. Still alive, growing slowly with a weak stem. Hang in there, little buddy!

Gathered up all the seeds from the Old World Paki I got from my last grow. 502 total! (Yeah, I was bored/stoned enough to want to count them all ).

Now, I think there are a few options for what I can do with all of these seeds.

  1. Of course I want to pay it forward and share these. I don’t know how comfortable I am sending 50 packages of these out right now, but if you’re in Chicagoland we could possibly meet up to swap. If I were to ship, I think I’d prefer sending a huge bulk load to a fundraiser or someone who can share them further.
  2. A hedgerow of these would look awesome next to my driveway. Also, my neighbor doesn’t seem to know where the damn property line is and prices for fences are through the roof right now. Seems like it could be the optimal solution…
  3. Any other suggestions, serious or otherwise??

Now that is a haul of seeds.

I love the hedgerow idea.

Since there was no known male during the run it is difficult so say how stable the seeds will be. There is a chance, a couple male flowers were stress induced in which case they might be female seeds. On the other hand, one of females could have had a hermi tendency, in which case that trait might be passed along to the offspring.

In either case, for those that do want to give them a try they should keep a close eye on them.

First signs of flower appearing! They’re a bit light-bleached right now, moving that bad boy up a few inches.

Maui Wowie Cherry Bomb

Looked through the seed drawer for an auto to replace the male Maui. This is supposed to be a Jack Herer Auto Fem that I got through a trade, but I’m not 100% confident in that lol. We will see. I put the seed directly into dirt and it popped up in 3 days.

Tahoe Red is looking nice!

One of my two female Balochistan Red plants just started making a few bananas at 6 weeks into flower so keep a close eye her during flower.

Looks like he’s pissed you took his picture. Lol

Haha a lot of people think he’s mean from pictures but he’s one of the chillest dogs I’ve met. He must not appreciate a 6am photo shoot.

Keep a close eye on your Maui wowie.

Sounds forboding lol…why’s that? The burnt leaf tips?

And, the Tahoe Red. One of the Landrace Balochistan Red females got bananas about 6 weeks into flower.

The other at 8 weeks which doesn’t worry me so much since it would have been harvested if I wasn’t ripening seeds.

May not pass along tendency in Tahoe OG cross but keep an eye out.

Both plants look great!

Update:
Maui, smells pretty much like the description said it would. Fruity with a hint of metallic.

The Tahoe is starting to look really interesting. The smell is different, kind of like chicken-flavored ramen broth with weed in it? Not in a bad way though lol.

Planning to let these go about another 4 weeks. Maui is going to need some help standing up, the buds aren’t that heavy but she grew tall lol. The Auto Jack Herer in front has been growing strong the whole time and is confirmed female as of 2 days ago.

Checking in on the greenhouse Tahoe. Growing long and lean, about 2 feet tall. A little bit of PM here and there, it was a cool and wet Spring and it’s been raining a lot lately as well. No sign of flowering yet. Of course a fly lands on it right when I take a picture. :butterfly:

Starting to like what I see! Bit of foxtailing in the Maui but I’m not too concerned. The Tahoe Red is definitely an indica, with dense roundish buds.
Some Maui lowers

Maui Cola, leaves a bit mangled but hanging in there

Tahoe Red lowers with some nice frost

Tahoe cola looking pretty

Jack Herer auto with some pistil action, my hopes are steadily rising for this plant

Hey there gang, thanks for tuning in for a little update here.
Lowest bud on the Tahoe showing off some dispensary level frost :snowflake:

…and the cola

Maui looking monstrous, but smelling goooood.

Auto Jack Herer starting to impress me with the number of bud sites and speed of growth. Might get some more autos started soon.

Time to play Where’s That Nanner!

Just found a few little bastards on the Maui today, so looks like she’s coming down. I pinched em off and am hoping none exploded, they definitely weren’t there yesterday. At least I can spot the damn things now and be proactive!

EDIT: Thinking about chopping the Tahoe Red today too, didn’t realize I let these things go for 8 weeks. Probably time to chop anyway! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
