That was probably me, unfortunately I lost the plant to bud rot so I never saw much of her after probably 5-6 weeks of flower. She smelled amazing though, I remember being surprised by a very fresh mint like aroma. I popped more beans last year but ended up with shitty M/F ratios so scrapped the grow altogether. I will say this though about those Lemon Thai beans, they are hard shells to crack so maybe some scuffing and soaking to soften those things up will help with germination rates.

A lot of good-sounding stuff there. I’d probably go with the Madre Azul, but that’s just me. Have you grown any of the OMG crosses yet? I like them.

Doc actually used Bodhi’s and a bunch of others to find his LT selection/cut, this is from the May 2021 mailing list:

Lemon Thai has always been some of my most memorable smoke… I love the zippy, feel good, life affirming high that gets my mind and body moving. I hope to spread this line far and wide to be sure it’s around for another 10 years. I have 32 individuals that will be searched and used to create this reproduction including stock from Motarebel Lemon Thai F3, Bodhi’s Lemon Thai 35 cut, and two packs of Loosh’s Lemon Thai F4 (via bodhi’s F3’s)… If all goes as planned you can expect some Lemon Thai around September.”

I grew out 3 Madre Azuls last fall and ended up with 2 females. Both of the females had a lot of intersex issues and I culled them mid flower. I don’t remember if they were caused by a stress or not, I’d have to check my old thread but that’s definitely one I’m not excited or interested in trying again haha.
Other than that, I haven’t tried any OMG crosses.

Do you just want to go through one pack or are you going to have a few of a couple different strains like you normally do? I’m sure Lavender Jack and Sundance are both worth exploring, Jack Herer and Wookie together sounds like a really good combo but I always liked everything about Jack Herer. DLA #5 x PU3, DLA #6, or Grandmas Hashplant sound like good additions to your next round as well. Let us know what you decide.

I’m a bit away from a decision (waiting to see what stands out in this current run first). Just in the brainstorming phase where I start thinking about what may interest me next. I go by what I feel like doing when it comes to doing variety or single strain grows, and at the moment I’m feeling the variety path for next run. Probably 1-3 of each selection and hope for 1 female from each. I will probably find a pollen chuck or two to try out as well.
I used to look at Jack Herer on the dutch seed banks (Sensi Seeds?) websites like 20 years ago but that’s the extent of my exposure to Jack. I guess I also tried a Herer HP but I got a heavy 88 leaner out of that one I believe. That one does sound interesting to me and may be similar to SFVxW15 in effect. I’ve gone through 3 packs of SFVxW15 so far so I’d just be trying to re-find my “keeper” if I did that, which wouldn’t be all that interesting.
Field Trip still really interests me but I think that I don’t want to revisit that one until I can take clones since I only have 1 pack left at this point.
I’ve tried DLA #6s a couple times but so far they have been all males. Very wide leaves on that one. Could be a nice night time option. I think higherthought had a pretty good review for that.
I’m a bit nervous about the PU dad but it does seem like it might be a good idea to actually try one of them. Will have to look up DLA #5 (I didn’t order that, it was one of those etsy LE drops where they surprise you). I remember someone (Windy?) on here was a fan of either DLA #5 or the mother (A1) in the cross.
Another OG x 88g13hp cross sounds like a safe choice as well. Irene , Skywalker , Ghost, Diablo, Pure , Wifi all would probably be satisfactory. I just wish I was better at identifying the 88g13hp leaning phenos early so I could cull haha.
I was also thinking about Phone Home last night (tk x wookie). I remember I was really interested in trying it until AdvancedBuffalo wrote a real disappointing review on RIU. In retrospect that’s a bit foolish to let one review sway me like that. The outcome of the current TKxSSDD plants will probably determine interest here.

More pictures from today. The area I’m in is kind of a tight squeeze so I have to do hand-held shots with the camera in one hand and remote flash in the other hand. I still prefer these shots with side flash over my tent shots.
I love the main-stem focused growth of the Trip Sunshine - A. Calyx to leaf ratio looks good on this one and has a good aroma. Very excited for this one.

DLA5 is nice from my experience - hot garbagy terps and leaves a perfumey incense smell in the air. Nice indica high that I enjoy, gets me in the zone for chillin haha. Ive got that cross with PU as well, should be interesting. The PU dad seems to bring good yield, longer flower time (10-11wk) from reports ive seen. Have seen some solid reports from its strains… the PUf5 release seemed not very well liked.

I dunno if the Jack that Bodhi used for those more recent crosses is the same one he used for Tree of Life, but that shit was goooooood. Obviously every plant is different, but I’d definitely grow that Jack/Wookie cross, even though I wasn’t a fan of the two Wookie crosses I’ve grown so far. Jack’s great weed.

Yeah, that’s the most attractive “sativa hybrid” x w15 cross to me at the moment.
What were the 2 W15 crosses you tried? I went through 1 pack of GSC x W15, 1 pack of GG4xW15 and 3 packs of SFV x W15. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the GSC x W15 but the other 2 were excellent in my book.
Something about the DLA5 x PU just doesn’t sound that interesting to me. Pinesoul x PU sounds a little bit more attractive to me as far as the PU crosses go. Even Black Triangle x PU sounds a bit more appealing. Will do more searching later on DLA5/a1 before I write it off though.
Also some additional thoughts. I’d like to avoid growing anything that I would want to F2 prior to testing. Some examples that I’d probably want to try to F2 are :

I dunno if they were crosses made the the Wookie 15 specifically, not sure which Wookie they were made with haha, but I grew the Pinball Wizard and the Cherry Trance. No complaints about the highs on either of those at all, but there was just something about them that made me go,”No, I’m not interested in growing these again.”
Still…. The Jack cross sounds intriguing.
I really do think I’m feeling very “reminiscent” lately… Just like,”Yeahhhhh, Jack Herer and Skywalker OG and… and… and…” haha. I do like Jack, though haha!
I gave my next-door neighbor some weed a couple weeks back, saw her and her girlfriend out in the driveway a few days ago and was like,”Did y’all blaze that weed yet? What’d you think?” And her girlfriend said,”I only smoke Jack Herer. That’s the only strain I’ll smoke.” haha! Very adamant about not blazing anything else. And I was just like… “Uh… Okay. So you’re just not gonna smoke what I gave y’all?” haha. Why would you just refuse everything but Jack? Maybe you’ll like something else, too.
The DLA5-portion of the cross is what intrigues me. I really, really didn’t like the Purple NL2 I grew and I’m certain it was because of the PU dad. That was the PUf5, though, so I’m thinking the f3 PU would probably be good. Or whatever haha.
I know a lot of people have enjoyed their PUf3 crosses. Or that’s what they said online, anyway haha. I wouldn’t suggest growing that one if I didn’t think it would turn out good, though. I think it will.

@minitiger how many Cherry Trance females did you have? I was really looking forward to that one… and Bing… I love Cherry weed. My old Black Cherry pheno by Suny Cheba was so incredible that I’m looking for a replacement.

Ya, the SFVxW15 cross that Bodhi made is a favorite for sure. In my top 3 I’d say. Tons of variation in that line when it comes to height, smells and flower morphology but for me the effects have been pretty similar across the phenos. Uplifting, improved focus, functional “sativa” day brightening high that’s great for summertime activities or responsibilities. Reminds me of a better tasting / smelling Goji OG. Very frosty and extremely high odor too. Both of those phenos were great but I think the cedar pheno had the edge in smell and was a bit more uplifting.
I failed the reveg on the frosty “sativa” pheno so I later ran the rest of that pack plus 2 other full packs in order to try and find that “sativa” totem pole pheno again. Sadly I wasn’t able to find anything similar but there was a nice gassy pheno that I pollen chucked with some Goji OG (2021) pollen…
At least 3 other members ( @Greasy , @BeagleZ , and @CrunchBerries ) are doing some projects with SFVxWookie15 right now, excited to see how it all turns out for them and what they think of the cross.

Just two. Haha. And I laugh because that seems to be about how many females I always get of everything I plant. I thought it was good weed, high was good, but there was just something that I didn’t like about the actual plants/flowers themselves. If you have the seeds and you’re interested in them, though, plant them. Don’t let me stop you haha. I’m sure there’s some good stuff to be found.
I sent the rest of the pack to somebody who I thought might like them a few years ago, haven’t heard about them since haha…
Yeah, my neighbor’s new girlfriend is fucking weird. I really don’t like her at all haha! And it has nothing to do with her refusing to smoke anything but Jack, although that was kind of the icing on the cake. Totally confirmed my initial impression that she was a fucking weirdo.

It would have been even worse though if she told you she didn’t smoke anything but Cookies no? Although if that was the case, she would probably be considered less weird and a lot more basic.
