Fun with hole diggin

Yeah your colas will just poke above the net. I use to do the exact same thing when I was growing in tomato cages. I would bend and break tops over and over till they stopped growing and then they would do a 90 and grow the most beautiful looking uniform tops you can imagine. Looking great!

So I need to stop before or after the stretch?

After the stretch. They are going to keep you busy until then… :+1:

Let the nugs come through the net, branches stay under or weave. This is basically low stress training, avoid super-cropping if possible as HST slows down plant development (recovery time).
Just work with them, you will get the feel quickly. Each plant is a little different.

I think the trimming (final) is even better because the tilt 90 on the main stem when it’s horizontal !

So just let the tops through after stretch, and weave everything else?

That’s basically it.
There’s lots of good videos showing techniques but you will get a feel for it quickly. :call_me_hand:

Your alternating nodes will stand up like little Christmas trees instead of growing along vertical the main branch… if ya ever see the cannabis regeneration book give it a read when a plant is harvested the lowest larf can reveg into a whole new plant pinning down all new branches And having tons of mini hard bugs that are great sized.

Yeah just keep bending and breaking if you have too. It won’t set them back much. They will form knots if the stem breaks. I’m just saying if you don’t want them plants to grow above that fence just keep bending and break the stems you’ll know when to stop

Hey Badger how’s the limb bending and popcorn tea going?

They’ve already had their tea. We’ve been getting some rain, I have to get over there and train tomorrow. I skipped out to go fishing tonight

That’s cool man. I’m interested in how your gonna train your plants. Not telling you what to do or anything but I wouldnt worry about hurting your plants. After you bend or break a shoot it will knot and recover fast. You’ll prolly have to bend/break each shoot more then once to achieve maximum results

I’ve been twisting to break them, so they can fatten up and be ready to hold fat buds. Training is going slowly for now. The good part is that all the pinching gave me lots of tops to work with.

Thanks bro. The wife and I were just talking about the logistics of drying and curing as well. I’m gonna wash them when they are done as well. I want to give whatever harvest may come the best chance to turn out awesome.

I just started collecting airborne bacteria. I’m going to get some lactobacillis and make a fermented fruit fertilizer to help plump them up towards the end. It should help with terp production as well. I’m running a bit late, but what’s new? :joy:

Only thing new for me is the germinated rye

Between the rain, the popcorn tea, and the cooler temps, they are blowing up man. I’m getting excited.

I used prolly half of 25 pounds of dry rye. Placed in pots filled with water. So after germination I figure 6 pounds of dry germinated rye pounder and mixed with compost tea liquid fish and liquid seaweed for a jolt in this transition phase there in for 2 of the 3 plants
