Fun with hole diggin

There are about 375849 plans for different types of worm bins you can DIY to get started sooner. I’ve had a commercial one I got years ago. You will be rewarded as soon as you start making your own vermicompost. It’s just like growing though, it takes patience.

I am growing under anothers license (I love on a rent house) . He tried to grow in his closet and put the plant next to mine when it didn’t perform very well. I told him or his brother is digging the hole for that one!!

Edit: in that living soil I’ve given them a little cal mag since it doesn’t look like mine is available yet, but with cooler temps they have been growing well.

That’s mighty kind of you. I just wouldn’t trust someone that much. I would like to see your plants sometime soon again. I have been posting my two organic ones. I think a pic post every 2 weeks wouldn’t be to bad. What do u think

His yard

I will do that. I’ve been checking in on yours. They are gonna be large. Mine are getting comfortable and if the temps would stay down, they would grow alot faster. It got too hot, too fast.

Yeah I agree they like warm but not screeching. I’m very interested in how the bud looks and smokes. But it’s a joy watching them in there vegetive state too.

I run (2) 25 gallon smart pots ,paid probably 10$ a piece best investment for me lot better than plastic the edges do dry a bit but I water around the perimeter to help that plus I put them up on a 1/2 pallet For better air circulation still holding up as if brand new fuckers do get heavy though! Lol

I bring them in for the winter and place them on thick styrofoam to keep the warmer and when it’s really cold the whole bin will be wrapped in a heavy blanket 24/7 365 shit makers! Lol

I should probably find a deep cookie sheet and slide it under the pallet when I water … maybe I’ll hit the thrift store this weekend see if I can come up with one in the cheap!

I didn’t know that there was so much work in taking care of worms. How are things setup in your drums? I’m imaging some sort of toat or bucket and using layers of newspaper between coir and worms. So what’s next?

Add some greens to your browns, like vegetable scraps. This is what the worms will eat.

Here is an update on my plants.

Also, question, I tried to dig holes for the rest of my plants. The shovel wouldn’t even go in an inch, so I will be stuck with air pots. My question is what size do I need to put my plants in to maximize their finished size, at this point?

Edit: isn’t there a minimum size I need for living soil or something, 25 gallon maybe? I know I saw it somewhere.

Your plants are growing nicely man. Amazing how fast they grow when they are babied.
You could use a pick ax to dig your holes with. As far as size of grow bag goes I think 25 would be respectable. Good job!

I thought about that, but remembered that I am allergic to pick axes! :joy:

I had a buddy tell me that it should be pretty easy to keep a good amount of biological activity in a 25 gallon, so I think that is what I’m going with. It’s doesn’t really brwak my heart too much right now to not have to dig.

Thanks man. I noticed they were picking up steam from last time I checked them. Tomorrow they get some compost tea too, and that will help the others with twansplant. I just gotta find the cheapest place to get some bags.

Hey Badger! Did you find any bags? What are u gonna fill them with?? What’s happinin?

I had enough soil to fill some bags. Some of it has even sat over a month and a half. We are going camping for 5 days, so. I’m gonna transplant them before and it’s door die time!!

I will have some check them to make sure they don’t get too dry. I’m not totally confident in them, but no choice. I will plant my two and the one left near my plot.

The two that are re-vegging haven’t been drinking, so I’m gonna soak them down before I go, and if they die, one less pain for me.

Edit: sorry for the crappy Pic.
The blue bin is provided by the :rabbit:

Those will work for something

Where are the plants?

Don’t leave your grow man unless your confidence is crazy hi

The plants are still in their pots. I have alot of work to do over the next couple days. I’m pretty sure if I soak them down well, they will be OK for a few days.
