Here is an updated, post camping, picture. They are doing very well in spite of the heat. Ignore the one in the back. It was potted before I left, and has had an issue with mites. I think I have them taken care of, but all the spraying has really pissed them off.
Panama Red 6” clone planted 6/1 at 42N other 2 two weeks behind because of Fox uprooting. Black Pearl, and Purple Thai. Both 6” clones.
All looking super nice though.
Hey Badger! Man your plants couldn’t look any better! There nice and green with there leaves pointing up. Have you been doing anything different as far as the fertilization goes?
I haven’t given them anything man. I’m just watering them every once in awhile. All that work I put into mixing my own supersoil came back around to help me out. I’m gonna be spraying them once a week. The mites have been bad around here. I gave them spinosad before I went camping, and probably neem next.
Where are you getting your neem oil Badger?have u ever used it before?
This year yes. I get it at atwoods or tractor supply. You may be able to find it at Lowes or home depot. I can tell you this, don’t before the sun goes down. It can burn the heck out of your plants if you do it when the sun is strong. Been there, done that.
Hey Badger! I have a question for u. You know I have been experimenting with orgarganics and you have a basic idea what iv given my plants. You know I prepped the soil with several hundred pounds of sit in OK topsoil. Half clay and about 8 inches deep. I have given many compost teas and other npk nutes including liquid seaweed and others. My question for you is is what iv done so far enough and is it enough for the flowering stage???
I believe that between the neem and the kelp, I should have enough k for flowering. I have been toying with the idea of finding something to supplement with. I need to go back and read through Tinytuttle’s thread to see what he would add. As long as you stay organic, it shouldnt hurt to have some extra. I will do some research on this and let you know what I’m going to add.
That would be great. I’ve given prolly 10 pounds of bone meal to each plant all in all over the past few months with compost teas and liquid seaweed and wood ash. I am thinking that the live soil should have plenty to break down and utilize for the rest of the season
Do you believe it’s possible to keep live soil in something that’s half clay? I just need a position on where I’m at for the rest of my season and what I should and should not do. You know what I mean?
Clay is some of the most nutrient rich soil there as a soil type. I mixed quite a bit of our good, dark clay in with mine. Clay is just too thick, it needs broken up. I think you will be fine. I don’t think tiny does much to his plants in flower, but his soil has been built up longer than ours. With all that bone meal, you may be good to go. I will post screen shots of what he gave his in flower.
The first two go together, and they were early flower. The second one was separate.
I use maple syrup cuz that’s all I got
Seems to work
Some people say that even food isn’t all that necessary. You can use corn syrup also. I’m not sure if there is anything detrimental in maple syrup, it’ll probably be alright.
Both ladies freshly topped. I got all of the tallest tips. We have been getting some rain, and they have been loving it.
Man those plants really took off. Looking good!
Thanks man. If I start a month earlier next year you will have some competition! Not to be mistaken with starting a competition. That gramps dude would embarrass us!
The last section of this article has some good knf info, and a recipe for fermented fruit tea. Check it out. Minimal ingredients, cheap, organic. If I need something, it is what I will try or Tinytuttle’s teas.
Sounds like your in the right track bonemeal high in P and the wood ash will be your k! Should get ya through no problem!
