24-36” off the canopy is recommended by the manufacturer. I don’t run it past 60-70% or else the buds get small that are closer to the light, I think high light intensity can cause herms too from my experience. I don’t use CO2. I also have a PPFD meter I got off Amazon. I believe I ran the lights from 600-800 during flower. I can’t remember exactly.
Makes sense… and exactly how I see it.
I’m at 50% currently. I think it would be advisable that I bought a par meter. Then do some more reading… but time to do so is tight these days.
Appreciate the feedback. Following your threads… your about to get real busy.
Yeah I am going to be really busy… I just hang the plants in the garage and get to them when I can. Chopped a big one yesterday. I want to try boosting the light the last week or two after the bulking is done and the flowers are finished growing. Then it won’t effect yield and maybe, just maybe… will cause them to push out more frost. I’m running mine at about 30% right now during veg, and will slowly work it up.
Not sure if you knew this or not but you can buy an inexpensive Lux meter and translate the Lux reading to a Par reading. Probably not 100% accurate but I wasn’t going to spend a lot of money (for me anyway) on a Par meter when I’m content with “close enough”.
That’s part of what I need to learn… lux, par, ppfd etc…
The more I seem to learn in this hobby, shows me how much I still need to learn.
I just wanted to grow some plants.
Just another option is a light meter app. Shane from Migro did some really interesting comparisons between the top of the line Apogee PAR meter and some of the apps available on android and iPhones. As you would expect, most of them were not great but Photone for iPhone did really well. It’s only $7 bucks for the LED PAR reader app and you make a small diffuser with tape and paper. You can see all the results compared to the Apogee meter in the article. I’ve just started using it so hopefully it helps with light distance and intensity.
Very cool! I always wondered if it was accurate, this makes me happy cuz no way I can afford an apogee right now. Thanks for sharing @Loggershands
Iit’s pretty sweet to see it all tested. For $7 I can handle a consistent 10% differential form an Appgee meter
I have Photone and it was free, I don’t use it often though as I always wondered, but Shane I trust for sure
Definitely, Migro is legit.
I’ll look into his videos…
I have the Photone app but I don’t know if I can trust it.
tested against an 600 buck meter was within 3 percent , i use mine daily
Thats encouraging…
Did you calibrate the app? I think I remember seeing an option for that. I’ll revit that later today.
Got alot of yard, mine and the neighbor to get done. Tomorrow tree guys come to take down a few in back yard. That will give me a ton more sun back there next summer. Could be useful if my state passes the home grow that’s in the state house.
Tree guys done and gone… hoping they pass the bill which includes home grow here… and in effect come spring? Be nice now that I have some all day sun. Time to bring the splitter around and get busy…
Mrs, my oldest daughter and I went to the Drive-In last night for dinner. It’s been 50+ years since iv been here and it’s only 10 minutes away across the river in NJ. It’s been here since 1947.
!A pair of Pro Street 64 Corvette’s pulled in while we were sitting.
And to keep on topic a few Cap Jinky shots…
Awesome! That’s killer, hope you had a blast! Nice whip btw what is that, big wood grain junkie
It’s a 13’ Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland edition with Hemi.
Only pics I have on my phone, just before and during my road trip of 22.
Love this Jeep…
Awesome! I should have known. My absolute favourite suv for a looong long time! Love it, awesome choice even colour I have a magnum RS in white, and have dreamed of having the Cherokee beside it, the SRT model is a dream vehicle
I looked for a white Overland with the peanut butter leather for awhile, found it on a Sunday morning and immediately drove up to Massachusetts to grab it. Lady owned, garaged and never saw salt. She replaced it with a Durango RT. They had a 71 Camaro, and Mustang vert in shop that came from Meecum auction. They knew car care… it was a no brainer buy.
Iv been a Jeep owner since the 90’s. Like you I’d love an SRT or Trackhawk in the WK2 body style.
Those Magnum Hemi wagons are going to appreciate… take care and hold onto it.
Earlier this week I received a few packages, both I’m excited to hold. @ReikoX sent me a few of his Dominion Diesel F2 beans he created, Thank You Sir! Those were on my list to aquire…
I also had recently read about Staten Island Chem on another forum, and the Phylos claim of it possibly being a precursor to the Chemdog strain. Could it be… the elusive Dogbud?!
I have my reservations and take the feedback on Phylos claim with a grain of salt. Is it hype, another S1 of the Chemdog beans lineage? I don’t know… really don’t care to be honest.
So on yet another forum a guy reached out after seeing a pic of my 91 seeded, claiming he had Stoneys cut, and he reversed it. Wondering if I was interested in a trade. As a Chem fan I gotta make the trade and check it out for myself right?!
So I now have the SIC S1 and a few SIC x MOB to check out as well.
So many beans… so little space.
BTW… does anyone have the SIC and have a few pics?
