Giesel, Tahoe, Irene, Rez ECSD, GMO, seedlings, and more! leetdood's grow struggles, vol 2

Oh damn. Nice genetics! For my peppers I also use a layer of perlite, the very large stuff that is rock or pebble sized. That prevents it from falling out. My substrate is primarily sterilizer coir on top but I enrich with mushroom compost for the peppers. I found the compost too hot for buds and it’s honestly not needed if you’re feeding appropriate nutrients levels. I mostly feed very very dilute for my peppers because I was worried the bottom feed would cause salt buildup but that’s more a suspicion than an observation.

Excited to see where this goes, never seen this done like this. I’ve seen people use top feed drippers with Pringles cans with great success (~2-3oz) though so it’s gotta be doable with the right conditions.

what is on the plant? I mean, it looks kind of odd from here. Coated in something? Thrips bites? Not sure.

I think youre seeing the sulfur residue

Oh! You got some kind of parasite you’re trying to finish off like mildew?

No i had just done two sprays for the thrips and two spot very early on, with sulfur and purecrop1.

Probably should do some sort of calmag foliar and get all that residue off. But im worn out from all the stuff ive been doing. Im cloning, managing, and flowering out over 50 plants in the 8x4 as soon as i can. Just did about 60 transplants in a row and im not quite in full shape yet from the surgery and being so sedentary during recovery and in general.

My adhd meds have helped a lot though staying on track and doing stuff everyday.

Gmo @ 14 days flower under the 240W led in the 40x40" along 9 other plants. Lower growth cleaned up and so forth. 4 ec runoff with 1.4 going in, been going down. Described my situation with hot medium months ago, but basically matching feed to the plants needs as the excess nutrients get flushed out. Also corrected massive pH drift on my pH meter. Ipm applied as i described on ICMag.

Will increase feed as needed when plants get their third watering since start of flower.

Sanitizing clone trays to take clones. Will be busy in addition to cutting plants back, doing the appropriate transplants to utilize the full space in the tent.

Not posting much because in general i am trying to focus on staying active and doing plant work. Not getting sucked in on social media. Too busy right now for that.

Part of why i do like continuing to post is because i feel like people can possibly learn from how i overcame specific challenges or issues.

Speaking of, Pringles is soaking up her feed. Gonna let her hit another dryback then give her about 2 ec or so with plenty of agsil16h. See if she continues to drink consistently or slow down.

Last i checked the feed in the tub rose from 1.4 to 1.7 ec but stopped there.

My feed ratio also, is:

.8g Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate)
3.5g calcium nitrate (N and Cal)
4.0g masterblend bloom 0 12 24 (PK and micros)

Per gallon

But i feed at 60% to compensate for lack of high wattage lighting and hot medium. To excess runoff to make sure i flush out the excess and imbalanced nutrients.

Plants love nutrients but in the right ratios! Its like a balanced diet

Someone on here also told me root tips can get overloaded with certain macros before they can access (or cant) the required micros.

So if you have a rootbound plant and make a mistake with feed, there is much much less buffer. This explains why a lot of newer growers struggle with rootbound plants is a theory of mine.

I like to try and picture it like a food analogy

If we say like a macro like nitrogen is like carbs. You can eat carbs, theyre not bad for you if youre eating like an apple or something. But if youre shoving down like two footlongs and a dozen donuts a day, youre gonna gain a bunch of weight and feel sluggish all the time, unless youre actually using all those calories like Michael Phelps or something. So you need to make sure you arent overfeeding your plant but also giving them the balanced diet they need, by flushing away excess nutrients (leftovers they didnt need to eat)

Readers please note that this doesnt apply to soil fed by organic amendments in the soil like no till and so forth. Youre not trying to flush out all that food at once. This information is when you use synthetics or other nutrients to feed in the water.

I always did want to ask @Acro when i had oodles of spare money, how does he set up and run benefical aquaponics. He did some stuff that worked extremely well from what i recall but most people, he said, didnt take it seriously because they didnt understand the level of knowledge you’d develop growing specialized coral and such. Its very in depth and it always sounded like a fun project.

If im rambling, its because i finally got a bit of a break having transplanted and watered all my plants and three buckets of feed made. Just the cloning and training and upkeep now, which is still a massive task list but like i said to my mum, at least im closer to the end of all this work instead of the start.

Not super pumped because nobody seemed to get a keeper off this f1 that i heard of. But samurai sour and gushers do make good progeny. It might just not jive in this case. Still puzzled about if gushers isnt really mb15 x gelato 41 not tk x gelato 41.

Stardawg bx #1, 2, 3
Hopefully readers will know,
Stardawg is chem 4 x tres dawg
I have some stuff written down but sometimes doesnt click how the cross works. Titans selection of lemonhokos work. Lemonhoko used stardawg bx to start from JJ he said when i asked. So it might be a f2 of that crossed back to f1.

I just popped a bunch of Goji F2… Goji Margy x Goji could be fun…

I’ve see that referring to gushers too. Whatever it is, it’s delicious, and so are a lot of progeny. I have some TK x Gushers so how TK like the progeny are might be telling. I was planning to get to that one sooner rather than later

Sanitized my clone trays.

Still making good progress but look at what i have to wash and sanitize on top of cleaning the whole area. Thats all stuff from like, the last 4 weeks too. I sanitized them all before that.

Ive decided a dishwasher is now near the top of to buy list. The list progresses extremely slowly but i do need one. With my executive dysfunction and autism i just slowly lose my mind washing this stuff. You gotta get every nook and cranny and these werent exactly designed for that. You cant zone out and do it on auto pilot. You gotta use your focus on this extremely tedious and repetitive task thats difficult to do with gloves on.

So like, i do it but dang it dude i cant keep washing this stuff by hand every 3 months. The smartpots can at least go in the washing machine. The rain science bags @HighTilliDie sent too. Maybe ill see how much set of those big tomato can sized ones cost.
