Trippy Diesel, it’s the name I’ve given to the BC Outdoor x Chocolate Diesel I made a few years ago. I grew a few out and just finished one. Crazy hallucinations, like DMT shit. Great smell, orange milk chocolate and mint leaf. Earthy tasting Diesel followed by more intense diesel. The high was unexpected. I took a picture with the intention of putting it in a ‘what you smoking’ thread but things took a turn. I’ve never been high like that from weed. Large quantities of magic mushrooms or smoking DMT gives me effects like this. Totally out to lunch. I decided to test it out on a few friends the next day. Same thing, crazy trips, mind-blowing potency. One hit will cook me, like fried. A few more puffs and I’m gone. I have a clone indoors and mother outside. I will be growing more.
Well, everything outside is in flower. Having the plants all start before September is a good sign they will finish properly. I’m really liking the ones in the colored pots, such potential for great things. Indoors, same thing, all looks good. AG x C99 and SSH aren’t getting out of hand. They both respond well to the trellis. I don’t know, I imagined they be a lot more hassle, crazy leaves or something but they’re surprisingly easy to maintain. The clones in the small tent are getting bigger, getting strapped down, they seem to like it. There’s an AG x C99, Trippy Diesel and 3 OGs slowly getting too big.
This brings me back to another issue, White Rhino. Something’s not right. The clones aren’t like the mother. Every branch of the mother plant was filled with buds, like around 20 per branch. The mother was a beast. The clones are average producers at best. More importantly they’re normal. They’re coming up on 6 weeks of flower, the buds stink like they should, the glands are solid white and it’s so sticky. I’m thinking maybe it’s not genetics. The only differences between the mother and the clones were the different grow tents and the nutrients they received. The mother received only Vivosun nutrients until they ran out around the fifth week of flower. The clones were given my regular fertilizers. Maybe I’m missing something.
Looking great @Gimme5minutes ![]()
Love the outdoor spots, and the close-up with the trichs looks nice ![]()
Definitely not genetics, it’s the environment and nutrients for sure. Lighting, airflow, temps, etc. all of those factors can affect the end product. Mostly in terms of yield and bud structure/density depending on the strain, but it can even diminish quality of the trichs and terps too…
You also have to think under the surface, literally. The roots. Was the mother from seed? Maybe she produced better cause she had the taproot? Maybe she had more veg time/size in comparison to the clones?
Thanks for taking an interest. It was grown in one of those automated grow tents. Every second of the conditions inside the tent are monitored and controlled. Followed the instructions to the letter. I’m thinking it’s the nutrients that came with the tent. I’ll message Vivosun and see if they want to weigh in.
I chopped one of the White Rhino clones yesterday, gummed up my snips by the second branch. Dank, gooey, smelly buds. By this morning my entire drying room stank so good. It was a smell my brain recalled from 25 years ago. The smell was a very stinky White Rhino, like Chronic without the fruit. Makes me squint my eyes and pucker my lips.
I have 2 SSH plants going right now. Both started at the same time, the one in the Smart tent has been flowering about 3 weeks and the other about 5 weeks. The one in the Smart tent has really starting to fill in just like the White Rhino did.
The weather is horrible for growing weed right now. It rains every day. It gets too hot or too cold out of nowhere. Everything is begging for mold. The rain last night beat the shit out of my garden especially Mazar, this morning there’s plenty of sunshine. For the time being everything is still standing.
I decided to pollinate the SSH and Acapulco Gold x C99 with Cheetos x Northern BC Skunk. It was on a whim. I was comparing how the 2 SSH plants were doing and realized the conditions in the Smart tent were vastly superior to the one in the larger tent. I’m guessing around 3 times as much bud in a smaller area and the branches all filled in. It just kind of bothered me. I’m thinking about picking up another smart tent and ditching the regular ones. A day or so later I crammed the 5 vegging clones into the large tent along with their lights and fans. Yeah, plans and me just never work out. Everything I do is just a series of whims.
I sampled a fair bit of the White Rhino grown from clones and I’m impressed. Honestly it was very good. The smell, taste and White Rhino stone were all bang on. There’s not much left, I keep going back to it.
Here’s a new one. Yesterday, when I went to water my plants in the large tent I discovered the light wasn’t on. Somehow the multiplug was switched off. I immediately blamed myself, switched it on and left. This morning, same thing happened again. Now I’m confused. I asked around and checked it again, it’s off again. I switched it on and just stood there waiting for someone to show up. After about a minute a mouse ran out, hit the switch on the multiplug and ran back. When I stop and think of all the things that have impeded my growing over the years I have to admit that’s a new one. I set a trap for the bastard. Hopefully the light disruption doesn’t affect the new plants too much as they have only been flowering a few weeks. I guess we’ll see.
