She served in the army, she had the power of veto over goverment and lots of different things, she was a figurehead yes but she did a whole lot of other things including charity

she was a woman who held power for 70+ years. she also was the winner of one hell of a genetic lottery strike. I do not respect the institution but I can respect her for being nice to her dogs…lol. got my priorities straight.

She was the “Soul of the Nation”!! When Britain was on the verge of defeat in WWII, it was Prime Minister Churchill AND the Monarchy that inspired the British Empire to persevere. Indeed, much more than a “figurehead”!! As a “YANK”, serving there in the Mid 70s, she was the one constant during that troublesome period. I, personally, could care less about the idea of Kings/Queens, but I have to give the Lady her due. Condolences to ALL Brits!! SS/BW…mister
