God Save the Queen!

:sweat_smile: you want to talk about truth?

The truth is the woman you are mourning was the commander in chief of the british armed forces and the head of her empire, for which horrific atrocities were carried out during her reign, on innocent civilians.

She got to die in a nice bed, in a warm palace, surrounded by her loved ones, while being tended to by the best doctors money can buy.
Unlike the innocent people who bled to death on the cold damp streets of my country, for nothing more than attending a civil rights protest. Or the people torn to pieces in Dublin city or Monaghan by the bombs supplied by the British army to the loyalist paramilitaries.
Or the 11,000 Kenyans butchered for wanting an end to the colonial occupation of their home after her father died & she took the throne or even the 1 million Kenyans who were subsequently detained and stuck in concentration camps in Kenya & South Africa.
These are just some of the atrocities commited in the name of your queen on innocent people.

So if you want to talk about truth lets be honest about who she was and what she stood for all around the world, not just in your insular, romanticised local version of history.

Im not anti British or English, the British people are our closest neighbours and friends in every sense of the word. We are the same people, just in different countries. But re-writing history to portray her and the remnants of her empire as this benign, charity based organisation is total b.s.

Its not a coincidence that more & more countries had been removing your queen as their head of State.

So maybe while folks are paying their respects to her passing they could spare a thought, even just a for a second, for the many innocent victims who died in her name, to preserve her empire.
