Gonzo's Growing Overgrow!

I’ve had bad luck with the Alaska fish. I think you have to use a very small amount. It screws something up in my soil.

Plants are doing well (I think)

Day 23 since flip & I’m starting to see a progressive fade on the bottom leaves. Any idea’s on what I need?

I would assume that you are referring to the lightness coming out in the leaves between the veins.
Without knowing the pH of the root zone, I’d come right out and say it’s a possible mild magnesium deficiency.
It also appears that your burnt tips are slightly clawed and the overall color is a lighter shade of green(maybe it’s just the lighting or the photo), but this could be nitrogen related.
Best of luck my friend.

Yea I’d say she’s hungry for nitrogen also. But I’m no expert I’m battling with my new nutes myself

Hey G,

Been a while since ive stopped by. Plants looking pretty happy and healthy I hope you and your family are as well. I haven’t read through your thread yet, but i will be getting caught up here shortly. What’s your garden going to look like here in 6 months or so? If you have room, i’d love to have you grow out some of my gear. As for your plant question, I had similar symptoms a while back.

If I recall correctly, this issue was a lack of Nitrogen for me. I had much more sever pale-ness (not sure if thats a word) but it bounced back as soon as i added some Nitrogen. (I also used a kelp foliar spray).

Now, having said that, you do want to check the soil ph from time to time, since ph fluctuation plays a big part. Personally in this situation. I wouldn’t think that’s your issue only because it’s usually expressed with bronze or brown spots.

Alright @Ris @blowdout2269 & @Thats_bank
I’ll hit it with some more Alaska 5-1-1. I think it gave me burnt tips last application but screw it, Damn the torpedoes!

And now for some flower shots!

Couple great pics bud. :+1:t2:
Blood meal is also a good source of nitrogen. It is usually a hefty dose though.
EWC is another great option.
And in my experience, kelp is like a fix-all. :slightly_smiling_face:

They look just fine Gonzo. A little hungry, but the guys above are right. A little nitrogen and you’re golden. I like EWC because there’s no shock to the plant (that’s just my preference). They’re a little slower acting, but they won’t burn at all.

I can tell you’re excited. You should be, they look great

Thanks guys, it’s easier to see the deficiency with the LED’s turned off. Just gave them each 1/32nd of a teaspoon of Alaska Fish 5-1-1.

Tops looking good though :+1:
Nice long colas stacking up!

Looking great there @gonzo also the Alaskan fish fert isn’t the greatest for cannabis it’s chemically stripped and can have large amounts of heavy metals I prefer something a little cleaner like a fish hydrolysate it’s cold pressed and a bit higher quality :call_me_hand:

Ahhh man, I had no idea. Thanks for telling me, maybe I can use it on the lawn.

One week update. Fingers crossed these finish up before all the leaves die from the nute burn/deficiency or overwatering I’ve unknowingly caused like a 3rd grow newbie
Next run, I’m using more soil, so I can water/tea only. No more top dressing/fish fert for me!

Tops looking good still :+1:

I dont know brother, Im not really seeing anything that tells me they need something. They look like they are going through natural fade.

I agree with @Ris What day are you on? I wouldn’t worry about those leaves at all.

Man I hope you’re right! :+1: It’s 33 days since I flipped so its got like 45+ days to go.

I feel like my timing with top dressing is my biggest issue. I’m convinced I need to be more thorough with when I apply them

I do one top dress when I flip to flower, and another 28-30 days into flower. @Thats_bank

That’s what I do but I’m thinking it needs to be more like 21 days :joy:
