Good resources for describing cannabis?

Are there any good resources that have good images and descriptions for different cannabis characteristics?

I know the standard stuff like ‘narrow-leaflet’, etc. but I lack the vocabulary (and often invent my own) when say describing the difference between a ‘squat chonker’ and a ‘lanky boi’.

Like what do you call it when the buds form thick columns as opposed to when branches shoot off multiple buds? How do I describe different bud shapes, etc.

Any guidance on resources would be much appreciated

Here is an example of 2 very distinct afghan phenotypes. How would you describe the chatacteristics of each one?

Nice garden brotha! :sunglasses: :vulcan_salute:

Lateral branching with internodal spacing is most common with NLD, Meristem stacked nodes is more BLD. I have seen lateral branching on but doesn’t go to the extreme as some NLDs that will just keep bushing out.

As for the descriptions of buds, it could go like this, foxtails, dreads, grinspoon or spindly, spears for the NLDs, the BLDs buds could be describe as Crowns, Cone, knuckled tops. I will say I’m not the best at describing but I hope this helps you describe them.

Kind rant, just pissed lol

BLD/NLD : no one don’t give a damn fuck about our scene, it’s why none real botanist destroyed yet the “genius idea” to describe cultivars with a primitive description of leave’s shapes.

We know what is the Loci6, its retrovirus and we already screen plants for THCa, CBDa with PCRs … 80’s are over. Half century ago.

Categorizing cannabis in a binary system entirely based on the spacing of veins of leaves … i don’t even want to know what drug was used to find this idea lol

end of the kind rant ^^

Tall stalk is generally referred to as “columnar”. The second is often referred to as ‘bushy’.

They are both often found in the same seed when grown.

I’d be interested in a similar resource. I’ve read a couple of botany books and they are helpful in learning the right words to describe plant structures and growth patterns.

I snagged a quick link as to not come empty handed
