Gramps Out Door Garden

One of the most beautiful plants I grew was a C99 outside that started to flower in May years ago. I ended up cutting off the earlyflowers because I was told that the auxins were in the newest growth and it would reveg better and faster. I had so many tops because not only did it reveg but I also toppped it in like 24 places. I’ve heard the reveg can make the plant weaker, but this plant was strong and seemed elastic like a sativa in a monsoon, so I’m not sure. It was cold up here in NorCal by Ukiah too, probably 42 degrees.

Last season the vanilla Frosting clones I grew started to flower then started to revert and grew some long single fingers . Then back into veg after a few weeks and ended up with over a 100 tops per plant about a foot long so I don’t worry unless we have a cold wet early fall . I use trellis netting to support or suffer major breakage I don’t top just spread the branches with layers of net two feet apart . When you grow outdoors mother nature is in charge you take your chances with unknown genetics from the pot store .

I hope the Frost ends up like this from last season .P9191060

That is cool looking. Does it finish in 10 weeks or so? I may grow my Vanilla Frosting outside this year, after seeing yours perform outside. I haven’t cracked any yet.

This is from Dark Heart web site Growing Information
FLOWERING TIME: 8-10 weeks

YIELD: Heavy

GROWING TIPS: Strongest growth in hydroponics, but more robust flavor in soil. It tends to grow as a single cola unless trained. Some fox-tailing late in flowering is common, revealing its Haze lineage. Place clones outside on June 1st to prevent premature flowering. To start outside earlier, use the Gas Lantern Method of providing additional light during the dark period. So I put my 6 inch clones out a month early need to wait and see

DIFFICULTY: Easy

I’ll have to get somebody to send me one of those one day. The closest I got to growing it is a bagseed Ghost Dream (Ghost x BD) and it leaned more to the Ghost OG but was a real nice structured beast with fat buds. I bet I could find it here in Colorado. Denver has lots of clones. I just haven’t looked into it yet. I don’t think they ship them though. I need to run up there sometime in the future so I should make it a point to find one. That’s a promising looking cut you have with very sativa looks. I’ll see if I can find one out here. peace

The only changes I made this season in my grow is a lot of pruning of cover on north side . It seems to have improved air flow on the whole garden . And letting the plants get a lot taller before trellis netting to let the wind move things around a bit and make stronger . I’m still feeding every other watering 1 tsp 16 - 16 - 16 sea grow and 1 tsp humic acid once a week . Maybe some shell flower this week Happy Growing

The big green helicopter with doors off and camera hanging off the bottom ? Was hovering over my house maybe they were comparing my six plants to the massive grow next door . I waved at them while watering I just hope they don’t think that’s my big grow . They were low enough to get a good look in my garden and my big red strawberries lol .

I was caught in 97 by helicopter. They hovered so low to the crop while we were sitting there smoking a spliff that I could see the pilots mustache… probably have asked his name of where he got the sunglasses. They came over by chance the 1st day, turned round and came back and kinda just circled the property pretty low and then hovered right underneath where we were sat I guess just looking at the plants. Then yeah next day came so low it almost parked its ass on us hahaha. This was living at my mothers house … we had a little back room i was living in out the back of a small plot and grew the whole roof full. Back then it was still the apartheid mentality of the police and laws and weed was pretty much coke if you were bust. Well the next day after it nearly landing on us , inwas walking up the road from bus stop and seen 3 Van’s parked outside the front of the plot. Knew right then I was in the shit. They already had my moms in custody when I got there. Luckily we had cop neighbourr who we had been living next door to since we were about 6 years old and he had a thing for my older sister. He was told that our house was getting raided for Dagga cultivation and distribution.:rofl::rofl: … he was able to come to the house and negotiate with his pig friends who agreed to let my mom ago as long I was taken to rehab because they couldn’t arrest a minor :rofl: moms was pissed :rofl::rofl:ahhhhhh man the good old days

@Sunvalley Classic story mate

I grew on my mum’s roof too when I was 17 haha, worked great had it vinning all over. First attempt was in the chimney at age 15 lined with tin foil, wasn’t too bad either until it outgrew the chimney haha it was a sight.

The one mum wasn’t stoked on though was the 6 pots I tied in the trees of my neighbours yard at age 16… she was an old 80 odd year old lady and I’d throw a bunch of plastic 3 litre coke bottles over the fence filled with water every other day followed by a tennis ball and ask if I could get my dogs ball back then go to work haha. Almost pulled it off but her kids spotted them 6 weeks in to flower and called the cops. They rocked up to my mum’s door but I wasn’t home and said your son was growing these next door in the trees and they’d be back to see me, they never came back. I could tell mum was half impressed with my concept haha. The classic mid 90’s, golden era

Phew. Those are some strong words brother! Lol. Hope you post some pics to back that up. Happy growing!

Watering heavy today trying get the bags good and moist temps heading into the 100 degree + mark over next few days . Dropped the first net before they get too tall and I spread the branches a little . Trying to give them each there own square . This is crazy weather we just had hail a week ago but the record is around 106 for this time of the year I think .

I love this thread, your grows show me things I rarely thought possible.

It just blows my mind what the plant can do when you give it the kind of time, love, and root space you’ve provided.

Anxious to see how your current plants turn out, great progress!
