Have you ever grown Matanuska ThunderF*ck?
I had a couple seeds from a guy in Alaska but failed to sprout a couple years back . Always wanted to try it took for ever to find someone that had it then poof a no go.
Looking great @gramps ,
Be careful climbing up and down those ladders this season.
I know I couldnāt do it. Iād have to get some youngsters in to help with a harvest like that.
I had a man and his wife come stay with us for a few weeks to get my last outdoor crop in, nowhere near the size of those beauties.
Stay safe, Fire season getting crazy.
Grace and Peace
Jesus Christā¦ It was 111 up there at 10am? Wowā¦ Thatās crazy. Plants look great, though.
You made me look ! no it was 2:55 pm lol on that day
Fantastic grow!
Ah, okay. I saw the time you posted that pic and just assumed it was today. Stillā¦ 111 on any day is out of control.
Blue Dream asking for water and the Banana Mango showing her parts . I got out early and started tying the main branches to the stalks for added support until I can wrap their getting out of hand fast . I also trimmed the bottoms a little its getting warm 90 degrees already heading for shade .
Hey, My plant looks like this. single spear leaves. Buds came a couple of weeks ago and I am in Canada. Seemed very early but it is a Friesland, known to be quick, almost auto, started way back in Feb and the tallest (7.5 ā approx) looks the most like this example you haveā¦ So nothing is necessarily lost, still a chance of a good outcome?
Yeah Gramps, stay clear of those ladders. Theyāll get you hurt real fast. Cut from the bottom and theyāll come to you, lol. I never put anything in the ground this year. I may still drop one of my potted plants in to get big. I have a couple of volunteer plants that are female and they will be fairly big by the end. Two really big ones are male. Be safe and stay cool. Gonna be a hot finish it looks like. peace
Heading for triple digits today heavy watering will feed tonight after the sun is off the garden . I dropped the nets on the Blue Dream one to go after that the girls are on their own lol .
YES SIR, Going to have to break out the chain saw again.
Make a nice walking stick outa that baby!!!
Looking Gooood.
Good Golly!!!
Thatās A Lot Of Work Propās!!!
Watered and fed 1 1/2 tbsp 16-16-16 sea grow all the girls are starting to bud what a difference a day away makes . The Banana Mango is going for it stacking already and the Blue Dream is starting to bud their 6 feet wide and 9 feet tall .
Banana Mango is the top 2 pics and Blue Dream is the bottom photo?
Brontosaurus, mice controlā¦Haha! or some reference to the size of your treesā¦good oneā¦Hahaha!!
The top two pics are the Banana Mango 9 footer and a long way to go . The bags are 5 foot or so across the lower branches are a little past the edges on the blue dream .
Do you feel that youāll have a better harvest this year than last, even with the early heat or is it still too early to tell?
Yeah, even the dinosaur seems intimidated by the size of the massive trees! They should be able to scare off any non invited guests.
Its hard to guess at this point but their going crazy . They all seem to like the heat slowed the upward growth a little but bulking up if only one makes the cut it will be more than enough lol . The Vanilla Frosting 5 footers are behind last seasons they donāt look like the same cut but still a long way to go .
