Hello everyone, I hope you’re all having a wonderful Monday.
This will be my very first grow diary here on OG. I will be posting about some GDP that @Til_Valhalla was generous enough to send me. They are still germinating right now, so not much to see. But if you stay tuned I will post updates about them here.
In the clone/seedling tent right now I have 5 Bahama mama and 2 FX3 from solfire garden. 2 blue nana from robinhood seeds and 5 white truffle from boomfiya.
These girls will be moved into an actual tent in a DWC system here in a day or two when the GDP are ready to go into the seedling tent.
They’re off to a super slow start since the first week of life was in temperatures that were too cold (I have that sorted out now) but they’re finally starting to develop some roots.
Don’t mind the one not in a netted cup. She was a late riser and just got put in the tent, I didn’t have her in a cup yet at time of picture.
I have a 3x3 and a 8x4 that I’m using right now. I have a 5x5 as well but it’s not up at the moment. They will all be grown under different variants of viparspectra LED lights in DWC systems and be fed lotus nutrients. I plan on keeping them all pretty small since there’s so many of them and I’m mainly looking for genetics to keep around.
“AC = “abuela’s cut”
this is a GDP pheno selected from seed. it ended up being the one that worked the best for abuela. so i kept it alive as a mom for years.
it also checked off several more checkboxes (ease of growth, non picky eater, can handle extreme sun and extreme heat (115F) as well as being able to withstand winter weather (40F). excellent flavors and scents, excellent frost level, slightly larger harvest yield, very hearty, good vigor (a problem for most GDP phenos.
XOX = xox is a canadian breeder i met on another forum years ago. he was working on a purple kush and GDP cross. what made his cut so desirable was that it displayed all the NorCal GDP traits.”
Good luck man I’ve run these babies a few times and got pretty fortunate with all females… In fact a couple showed pistils during veg which was nice but overall great medicinal strain very relaxing. Just started some hybrids crossed with lavender courtesy of our friend @Til_Valhalla again and curious to see what strain dominates or if it’s an even balance
Yeah I’ve seen some of your grows on this strain. You did a good job
That’s awesome you got all females. I’d actually like at least a couple males. I want to collect some pollen.
I popped the whole pack of 10 hoping I get 90-100% germ rate. That would be ideal.
Can’t wait to see how the crosses you’re running turn out. Good luck!
Update on the GDP seeds.
6 out of the 10 have popped and got placed into rockwool.
2 more cracked open and look like they may take as well. I’m hoping anyway. I’ll be happy with 8/10 but keeping my fingers crossed still for 10/10
looks like those 2 with tails nubbing out will make it.
i am assuming you’re referring to @xox ?
i used a select male from his BX2 to pollenate my GDP female i have been running for the last 4yrs. i want to preserve her medicine. xox had an excellent male to work with. checked off all the boxes.
the only other breeder’s male i was interested in beyond xox was shoreline. (still looking for one - next phase)
if you have bx1 or bx2 GDP from XOX you will be very happy. it is quite evident to me that he was meticulous about his selections. i would happily vouch for his work. it is excellent. i would have brought them to F3 but i had all males in my pack. regardless, it was still an excellent trade from my end, and the offspring his male has made with my selected cut have turned out exceptionally.
headies ran a test for me several months ago.
his thread is here if you’re interested.
The final number is 7/10 popped and sprouted out of 10.
They are now in my small 8 plant dwc set up along with a Bahamas mama from solfire, under the viparspectra ks3000 sitting at about 250ppfd. So far the only nutrients they’ve gotten is some Clonex clone solution in the water pH’ d to 6 to help with root development.
I’m going to let them veg long enough to take 1 or 2 clones off each and then flip to flower.
They’re a little behind schedule with these cold north east basement temps and me taking a day or two longer than I should have to get them set up, but they’re ready to thrive now.
