Grove Bags.... Has anyone tried them on a cure?

I just got some hearing about them from @420noob and @Rabeats2093, and I’m probably going to get a 12 pack of 1oz bags. From what I see there’s definitely retention to keep moisture and weight in check. I’m a believer in these ‘grove bags’ but I’ll definitely only buy official branded. Seen reviews of knock offs, and would steer clear of the imitators.

Very good idea grove bags only.

It’s been said before but: the zippers are pretty good, nothing beats heat sealing them tho. You can keep heat sealing below the zipper after the first time or two, I have some that are down to like half their original size after being sealed and cut open a few times

Definitely see what you mean. If I’m not going to constantly open and closing, sealing for longer storage very wise to do, although depleting by the day, lol nothing remains stored, except if it’s bud like PTK I’m only smoking in emergency nothing left but that.

I like them. Less bulk than jars. They come from dog/animal food packaging, no? They had to come-up with the tech to prevent the off-gassing and popping open the bags of nicer animal foods. I think so at least. Haha

That sounds legit, I know that vegetables are also packed in this stuff to give them a longer shelf life

Yeah, I thought the mylar layering tech was developed for fruits and vegetables.
Though I could be wrong.
Totally gotta get my hand on some before next harvest. I can’t be burning 30 jars again, lol.

Lol, in my case it’s just a flare up. Maybe numbing.

for me boveda packs has negatively affect on taste - they do ork keping RH constant (they have come out with “terpene” pack (specific terp per pack --limonse, ect) wow what next - haven’t hears anything about these pack yet - for long periods 6 month + I would use - but then again opening a jar after 6 month is good too. Grove Bag work for curing with no issues -presently “amber” jars work for me. One thing - when ordering grove bags - order size larger than you want ( for 1/2 oz get a 1 oz bag ,) thanks for your post. been wanting get some RH meters for jars ( One company ripped me off payed - no product (Essential Enginering ( they offer trellises, plant benders, ect)- without checking for sure)

Trying out the terp loc bags. @Dirt_Wizard sent me some. I’m going to throw my fritter in a 2 5* gallon bag. And my mac1. When it’s dry. Here the bud is.

These are the ones I’ll be testing over the coming time.

Just decided. The fritter which I have a bunch of will go in the large bag. Mac1 is going in all of these other ones. I’m saving the other bags…

I just bought another bunch of these. I prefer them to the jars since I can throw them in the Grove bags a bit earlier and don’t have to wait until they are completely dry and don’t have to burp them.

I do wonder if it might be wrong to store them long term in a fridge, I would think they could get too dry in the long run but so far it has not been an issue and I liked the cure I am getting at low temps. If I could guarantee temps below 78 F I probably would not refrigerate.

So far so good on these bags! Put everything in their own bags, using the 1/2 pound and 1lb bags and the RH in the bag has remained 100% stable throughout the room shifting from ~30-80% RH over the last week from power outtages and whatnot. Herb is seemingly coming out louder than when in the jars  Only been almost two weeks but I’m happy with them at the moment.

I ordered 5 -1 lb terp loc and 6- 1/2 ounce glassless terp loc. If you don’t have grove for harvest yet. You’re missing out. Second year using them. This fall. I am putting everything in 1 lb grove bags and weather tite totes again. I’m going to leave them in my shed for the winter @Jetdro. Keep them nice and cool during the cure.

I believe a lot of us have switched to GB’s for good. lol
As soon as I can afford another buy, I’ll have enough to last.

I have found one thing that puts a damper on my method of re-using the bags from previous grows. The smell of the first grow stays there in the bag and transfers some of that smell to the new buds going in.
I have some Cherry AK 47 that is Sweeeeeet! It’s been in a bag that I cured some Swakhammer in last year. Swakhammer has some real stank to it. Now my Cherry AK 47 has a slight Swakhammer smell in the mix. That’s kind of disappointing to me. I love Swak but the Cherry smelled awesome before. The Cherry smell is in your face when you open the bag but I still smell the other on it.

Suggestions anyone? I’m too strapped for cash to buy new bags for every grow. lol
So how would you go about eliminating as much smell from the bags as possible before putting fresh dried bud in them?

Maybe spray them ISO and wipe the insides out. Let them evap and dry before using them again.

I have some 1/2 oz bags that I never use… Maybe a test on that would be in order. I wouldn’t think ISO would be a problem for the plastic but it would be best to try on that small bag first.
Yeah. I’ll do that.
Thanks
