Grove Bags.... Has anyone tried them on a cure?

This is just at the very top of the bag when you hold it up to your nose. Maybe the first one I pulled out has a leak in the zipper? It seems sealed when I squeeze it. In all fairness, that Mimosa is very terpy. That’s why I picked it for this test. I definitely can’t smell anything through the material though, so right there it’s better than any baggie or turkey bag. @MoBilly Can I ask you to grab a bag and smell the top to see if you get any smell coming through the zipper?

Maybe it’s on the outside of the zipper in the flaps? Ya know, from when you filled it or your hands?

That is definitely possible. I will add that the bag is pretty full too.

They do say that to get the best results you need to impulse seal the top.
I roll mine and then clip them.

None of mine emit a smell . Some have had bud in them 8 or 9 months

Maybe it is from filling the bag. It’s only been three or four days, so the smell could be lingering. I know you have some terpy stuff

When the Skunk T goes into them it will test them . If it contains ST it will contain anything

My stuff has been in 1 lb’s since Oct/Nov premo cured. :100: :fire: I can’t smell them until I open them. Zero smell.

Yep @Coda ,
I just tested the few one oz bags that I have and several of the 1/4 lb bags. Nothing there. I have some Swackhammer that has been in bags for over a year now. That stuff stinks to high Heaven. There’s also some OG x GG#4 RIL that is so stinky my wife doesn’t like me opening the bag in the house. Those bags hold in any odor I’ve run across. lol

I don’t think that you’re supposed to fill the bag right to the top either.

3/4 at the most I think they recommend.

I did read that, but you know how we are. We’re men. We don’t need no stinkin’ instructions

I think you’re right. It’s probably from filling it a few days ago. I wiped off the inner part of the top of the bag and the smell wasn’t as strong. There are probably trichs in the zipper as well. I’ll give it some real time and keep checking back. I’d love to get away from jars.

I fill 1lb bags pretty full 75-80 %. As I use the flower I just fold it over and zip lock it. Then I weathertite tote it. Works like a champ. I am switching up this harvest. Same bags and totes. I’m going to store/cure in the shed which will be cold in the winter. I think it can only help.

We dry, cure, jar and in a spare fridge they go. I’ve got AK-47 that’s over two years old and smells as fresh as the day we jarred her and her sister. The issue is that the jars leak. The bud is dryer than I’d like it to be. It’s not bone dry or crumbly, it’s just not as “chewy” as I like it to grind. On top of that, the jars take up so much space. It would be nice to get this stuff in bags and still keep them in the fridge.

Trying out using tape to keep it sealed.

May adjust it a bit

So for those of you heat sealing have you found a reliable heat sealer? Seeing a couple on Amazon for less than $15 and up. Don’t see the need for an expensive one but curious what’s worked for everyone
