Grove Bags.... Has anyone tried them on a cure?

I’ve been on the fence about buying these. I thought about smell from previous harvests if reused. I am a cheap bastard.I will only buy them if Reusable. Lol Have you tried the alcohol If so did it work?

Yes and yes. I used it diluted ~20% alcohol with distilled water. Then I opened them up and put some air moving over them. I could still feel a little tackiness from resin on one so I did that one again. After sitting open a couple of days, there was no odor that we could detect.

I’ve decided I like them. The fact that you don’t have to burp is nice but I think it does do a better job curing anyways. I think the buds cured in the bag might smell the best too. We’ll see how they do for long term storage. I don’t know if putting them in jars now or leaving them in the bags would be best but I’m at least going to use them for the first month at least from now on.

Thanks @mobilly I love these bags. Work better than jars for me since the jars dry out on me open and closing. Rh is usually 10-18% in the house.

I prefer to vac seal them once there cured to my liking. Definitely helps with the extended storage to maintain smell and moisture.

Well I, for one, will be using them as long as I can find them for sale at a decent price. @FirstCavApache64 gave us a heads up on the free shipping and I took advantage of it.
Thanks again brother :facepunch:t3::wink:

I grabbed a bunch during the 420 special. Gave me 3 more pounds worth of storage so now I gotta grow more…oh darn lol.

Such are the difficulties that we must trudge through though. It’s a rough life but somebody has to do it.

The one downside I’ve noticed is that the humidity seems to be continuing to drop. My bags were all around 60% and now they’re around 50-55% a month later. I might put them in jars now.

I think the humidity in the storage area will effect the humidity in the bags from I have read as I am too cheap to try them

@PadawanWarrior
I’ve got bags that have had weed in them almost two years that have, maybe dropped a percent. Mine are just kept in an old gun safe right near my wood stove. In the winter the humidity is almost nonexistent. No problems. IDK… I hope the tech hasn’t changed in that time.

I’ve noticed if they don’t seal well then they’ll dry out. I bought a batch of 10 and half wouldn’t seal. Just fill with air, seal, and squeeze to test it holds.

The child safety lock type have not failed me after many re-uses, so I stick with them now.

Mine seemed to seal good. Only one of them seemed to only lose a couple percentage since packaged. The rest were bagged at 60% and are at like 55-56% now. Maybe it’s because it’s really dry here. I don’t know. I just put it all in jars. I’ll still use them to cure though.

I do that often as well. Now I have just bought enough to be able to store in them long term. I’ll be heat sealing them then.

Yeah I had the same problem. They seam good for a slow cure but storing is a no go for me. I left it like 4 months and it was wayyyy too dry for my liking. I will still use them to cure but not storing the stash.

This makes me wonder if my new bags have as tight a seal as the first round I bought. If not, like you, I’ll go back to storing long term in jars only. That sucks because that stuff in the bags for way long just keep getting better. I’ll be so bummed out.

I’ve used the grove bags 3-5 times now?

They work a lot better if you can heat seal them, which is why I cure in them then store in glass jars. I’m extra careful to cut as close to my last heal seal as I can so I have more room to seal again next time. I haven’t had to cut past a zipper yet, but I think I read somewhere that you can. The bag will be smaller, but I’ll use it until I can’t.

I got a good amount previously because shipping was expensive, but now that I know they do the free shipping on 4/20, I’ll stock up next year for sure.

@TrichomesToStun .Do you do anything special to clean them out each time?

Don’t ever put your good bud In jars

Naw I don’t think so. I might have wiped down the area for the heat seal but not inside the bag. Should I do that next time?
