Grow my own medicine

My wife has had frozen shoulder for some time now, and the only thing that seems to help is CBD oil, although what we have also has some THC in it. She doesn’t trust doctors, and this stuff is expensive. I love growing just about anything and grew up in the 60’s and 70’s so I am familiar with a lot of things, but am open to any advice on dealing with this type of pain and what route has worked for anyone else - thanks!

Tinctures are easy to make

Ever clear , bud , strainer , 2 large mason jars, cheesecloth

Freeze everclear and bud separately
After 1 day in the freezer combine broken up bud ( leave room to cover the bud with the everclear) in a mason jar with frozen everclear shake like hell 3 minutes separate squeeze out all the liquid from the weed
Refreeze it’s important to freeze again separately so as to keep out as much chlorophyll from the mixture
Once in the freezer for like 2 hrs repeat combining both frozen bud and everclear and shake like hell once more
Strain out all the liquid and throw out the bud it done
Everclear is now infused with the cannabis
Leave it in the mason jar and keep in the freezer for 3 to 5 days ( all the sediment will fall to the bottom of the jar
I use a coffee filter to remove any loose sediment
The slower you pour it the less sediment in the filter the cleaner the finished product

This recipe was handed down to me by a great friend of the community
@Gardenartus
You can take the tincture as is or let some evaporate off to increase the strength
Drops under the tung
There is a stove method to reduce alcohol but if not careful house goes boom :boom: seriously if you reduce all the alcohol out you get hash oil
I like to reduce it 1/2 way and make
Canna sugar for my coffee and tea
I can explain if you interested
The oil on it’s own is powerfull meds

Good luck

I grow a bunch of this strain called Luxor’s Chocolate CBD. from purple caper seeds. It’s a 1:1 thc:cbd, and has some other cbd’s in it, and thc-v.

It makes a great coconut oil. Then my gf puts that on crackers. If I’m really hurting I’ll just use the oil as is, rub it on wherever hurts.

Basically… your CBD plants grow a lot like regular plants. flower in 8 weeks. and the bugs usually stay away from those ones more, atleast in my yard this year.

I’ve made RSO with it as well. everclear gets expensive tho. i need a new source of alcohol for that before I do another batch.

Usually we make coconut oil, usually from bubble hash, too. I put about 2 grams per Fl Oz of coconut oil. and its enough for a decent dose in a teaspoon full. also goes good in my cup of coffee. the oil won’t mix with milk, but will mix with those non-milk creamers. it’s a little nasty, but so rewarding. I started to like the taste.

I’m not fully versed in this stuff yet tho… but I am self-sufficient at this point. and supporting a couple other veterans/old guys with MMJ cards.

Having that CBD in there will basically kill the THC high. or “Plateau” the high. levels it off. Some of my other sativas can be wicked paranoia monsters.

So. That’s been some of my recent experiences in finding what works best for me and also my girlfriend.

Purple Caper puts out a few different CBD strains. Some of the other popular ones are Charlotte’s Cookies and Tonic web.

Check your current cbd cream for DMSO, Dimethyl Sulfoxide. It can be used to make the cbd penetrate the skin. Its very effective and requires some safety measures like thoroughly cleaning the application areas beforehand and not starting with too much. It likely can be added to your current product. It is for external use only! Good luck with her healing.

Thanks Papalag. I am working on growing some plants for now, and may have some questions in the future. The process sounds pretty straightforward, but I often end up having at least one question.

Thanks again!

Thanks synapse57. This sounds like what I need. I also checked out your post from April 2024. Do you have a recommendation for where to go to get some good seeds?

Thanks again!

LinaLucas,

That sounds great. What do you need from me? I am willing to try about anything at this point.

Thank you!

From what I’ve gathered from my mother’s, my father’s, and my own experience with frozen shoulder it goes away after a year.

Motion is lotion. Keep moving the arm and use as much of the remaining range of motion as much as possible. Maybe try a physiotherapist, too.

Funny enough my frozen shoulder was caused by injury and subsequently fixed through another more painful injury.

If you have the budget, a Levo can be great for making infused coconut oil. Then mix that with lotion. Works better than anything I got in a dispo, and its super easy to make.
We grow a high cbd hemp strain Sour Space Candy, and mix that 50/50 with high THC flower to make lotion. We call it Magic Lotion!
