When I grew with hps it was switchable to mh
Loved it for veg
Now leds

An HPS ballast will fire an MH bulb of the same wattage but not vice versa. It’s definitely not ideal, but I’ve done it lots and never had an issue. They also make MH conversion bulbs for HPS ballasts which is what I use now.

Papa all i do is switch bulbs.
I am currently having a problem with one light.
It fires runs than goes out.
I think it is a voltage inbalance therr .
I haven’t had this problem.
I change my bulbs every year and i have evev switched out the ballast.
Yes i have switched bulbs .
Took a voltage reading and it was 248 vac.
Any ideas welcome…
I have a light in there.i was running 2.

I know my ballast would over heat So I put a cheap fan on it and stopped that
But I am electrician just a hack lol

Yeh sometimes they fo overhest…
I put my spare in ,changed all cables
Am thinking i have 2 ballasts on the same breaker.and that may b the problem
I may have to run a new cable from a new breaker.
I hate to have problems

Gonna turn my Dusk into darkness for 48 hrs. Then chop chop…They are finished at 68 days.

I’d love to see yours. I still remember that Dusk I grew was the first plant that stood out that run. It out paced everything from seedling on. What a stud woman. Peace
