Well, that was a drag first thing on this fine Saturday. On a fun note, I started a flat of flower seeds under lights again the other day and all 6 of the marigolds sprouted in 2 days. I was shocked. This light tray thing my Mom sent me is fun. No, I haven’t even attempted cannabis in it yet.
Well, all my plants were yelling at me this morning. “Hey Lady, give me a drink!, Hey Lady, I can’t breathe, there is no room in here!, Hey lady, get this caterpillar off me!” Aye Aye Aye! Now, the give me a drink part made sense as I practically make them use every drop of water in the container before I give them more. Make those roots search practically to the point of wilt and absolutely no run off when I water during veg, but I was not expecting them to be root bound already. All 3 of the Iced Cubes had the most impressive and fattest roots of all, but the first batch of plants all were pretty nice! Transplanted all of the first batch. Found a few spider mites and one small pillar. Now, dont freak out indoor growers because I said spider mites. A few in veg on outdoor plants are nothing. I have plenty of beneficials out there controlling the numbers. No infestation or anything. Wiped off a few pillar eggs. I’m not worried about either pest in veg too much, but I’ll hit them with both spinosad then BT within the next week once they settle in from transplant just for even more peace of mind. I pulled all the smaller plants out of the flats and sanitized them a huge black jumping spider popped out at me. I think the neighbors are used to my spider screams at this point. I have grown used to all the other bugs, but never the damn spiders! I don’t kill them outside unless they are black widows, but they still freak me out!
So the small Orange Goji’s are still just reeking up the yard and oddly enough Port Wine Cheese 2 (only #2) told me to hold her beer cuz she too is reeky as hell. I hope she is a girl. Pheno 2 is off the chain reeking of skunk bud something fierce, giving the OGs a run for their money.
I had to stake PWC 2 and Panama Garlic Haze 2 after transplant. I’m thinking maybe they were sheltered more from wind than the rest based on their placement in the tray. Not sure. Whatever, they are all in the 2 gallon pots now and all stand alone aside from the 2nd batch of seeds still in smaller pots.
I have a bunch of albino bees in my backyard. Anyone ever seen any? I haven’t. Very bizarre.
Today’s transplants… next time… the ground
2nd batch…
And for the heck of it, some marigolds, dwarf sunflowers and Mexican sunflower sprouts I brought out today that I germed under lights
Love following along on ur grow as u know lol absorbing lots for wen I finally get to grow outdoors, I usually kill brown recluse no thanks . Never seen an albino bee will be googling those after this interesting to say the least
Aside from the bajillion transplants and needing a lot of plants because I have to sex them, veg outdoors to me is a cake walk, especially in soil. You really don’t have to do much until like the 3rd or 4th week in the last pot, then you only need to feed them until they go into the ground. Its what? 3rd week of May? They will probably only need like 2 feeds before the ground. Of course once they sex I will prune the shit out of them and supercrop them again cuz that turned out amazing last year. I think Dad has most of the hard work this year building the bug enclosure before bud. He keeps moving along every Sunday though. He bitches a little bit when he’s done for the day, but he loves having a project and feeling useful. He gets his retired chill time and a purpose, but not anything that eats up too many hours.
Albino bee mystery solved! They are sand wasps! Trippy!
Can you guys believe that I just now got a bill in the mail for those amendments? What has it been 2 months now that I received them? Wow! I had forgotten all about it. He’ll get my check back so fast he won’t know what to do with himself. lol
So the first set of plants, the ones I transplanted yesterday have started branching. All except for the weirdo suspect Blue Dream. I just dont trust that plant. Looks nothing like any blue dream I’ve ever seen. Honestly, think I bought bogus seeds. This is just another reason why I prefer my dog over people. sigh
They have branches now, how fast they grow up. Not my babies anymore. They are officially plants now. I really love growing things and my cannabis, but not looking forward to budding. It’s exciting, but stressful as hell too. All the shit goes down in bud. Oh well, let’s see what Mother Nature throws at me this year. It’s always something.
Gonna need to do the final rototill in the patch and level it out. Dad left me measurements for the plant placement. That was nice of him. Last year, I measured it all. You guys are gonna trip on the setup this year. Dad’s using the trellises as the structure for the ag net. He added extensions on the trellises and they will interlock like legos. They are all really flexible, but crazy sturdy at the same time. Thinking it will even support the plants themselves even more than just the trellises alone as the whole thing will almost be it’s own lever and pulley system with its flexibility. I believe it will be 9 1/2 feet. So if the cheese wants to get that big again, tough shit. lol I don’t anticipate another 9 footer this year. I’m even holding off putting the fems in the ground this year.
Talking to Dad the other day about me growing less plants next year. I’m sure it’s only talk because it was hard enough to narrow it down to 9 strains, let alone figure out 5 or 6. lol I’m ridiculous. Is there such a thing as having too much bud?
Too much bud = too much fun
Others may complain about your life being too good?
(Especially if you’re really good at drying and curing it)
Is that mowie wowie the cherry bomb from Sebring or a different one? If it’s sebrings wanted to give you a heads up I’ve heard many people getting herms out of those. Don’t wanna see your trees get messed up.
As long as you have trimmers, you can never have enough bud!
Yes, they are from Sebring. Thanks for the heads up. Already 2 of the 3 showed male. Only 1 left and I got my eye on it. Last year I had a og kush herm on me. That sucked. I caught it super early, but still found some seeds in all of my plants.
This is always a nice sight! Hello, little friend!
Hey @SamwellBB this is the pwc 1a. Tiny bit of color in the start of that leaf.
Glad to see one of the pwc twins is still going strong, nice color to it already
You already forgot about trimming before you discovered the 'trim-o-lator
I have personally been on the verge of tears & stumbling over branches that fell on the floor… not caring about walking on some ounces on the dirty-ass garage floor, just looking for another spot to hang some weed.
A friend of mine filled a large 2-story house. Even the shower. You got a buzz just walking through it because there was so much evaporating in the air… like walking through a low-temp vaporizer.
He was letting anyone trim…
Crazy times.
Those are mighty fine my man! Great growin’! RESPECT.
Blessings…
Both twins are still trucking! After Sam showed me the beauty he has budding (all kinds of beautiful colors) I checked out all 4 of mine. Seems they all have some colors starting on the new baby leaves. He got them without any chill, so I’m hoping they’ll do it in my climate too. Last year, I got the tiniest purple on the bottom of the gdp leaves, but not much. I love watching colorful plants grow. It’s pretty rare they ever do it here. I was supposed to get pink bud on one of my plants a few years back, but it never happened, just never get a cold snap here during the end of flower. It’s pretty warm here even at night through October.
We always want what we can’t have, right? I’m crossing my fingers that the pwc 2 is female and is colorful as well, cuz she’s a reeker! Actually as stinky as the orange goji in veg and I didn’t think that was possible. Have you grown any Orange Goji yet @Budafly ? If you never got your hands on some of those seeds OMG hit up my inbox with your address and I’ll send you some. Imho they are award winning. Should be in some sort of cannabis cup or something.
Do any of you remember the Cackleberry I grew last year and how I wasn’t super thrilled with it? Well, it’s 3 of my friends favorite strain I grew from last year. They’ve all hit me up for more and specifically asked for that strain. Maybe I’m just the weirdo. In all fairness I have enjoyed it much more the longer it’s sat in the bucket. Mostly I think it just got overshadowed by the others in my eyes last year as I was so thrilled by the old skool strains and the pure nostalgia I got from them.
I still think Dad is a complete fkn weirdo as he can’t bring himself to crack into a different strain while he’s smoking one. He has to finish the jar once he opens it. Shoot, I have like 15 different jars on the bottom shelf of my coffee table. I’m in them all depending on my mood. Variety is the spice of life.
Lmfao! Thanks for the morning laugh…
@Meesh even better that both are still going I’m sure they will have nice colors fingers crossed I no it doesn’t get cold enough in ur neck of the woods so jealous lol finally just getting nice steady weather here in mass high 70s - 80s this week let’s see if it stays
I’ve yet to try the orange goji I’ve heard great things about it tho only thing that worries me is the smell my landlord lives right above us, I guess that’s wat filters are for will most definitely have to use it in veg. I’ll send u a pm later actually tried responding once already I have trouble posting sometimes at work so this may pop up twice lol I’m not even stoned yet either
