Growing With Mr.Sparkle : 2021

Fastbuds before they pulled there act together used to put a popular strain name on seeds that they grew that didn’t have any of the lineage in them. They have had a lot of bad press over the years. Google the fastbuds gsc advertisment and you’ll understand why :zipper_mouth_face:
They seem to have getting it together now though and produce decent strains :+1:

No purple lemonade no but I’m limited on space in my tent. I will grow them at some point (who doesn’t love seeing purple in their plants)
I’m doing a rdwc run come January with just autos. I’m interested in how they will do yield wise and if what I think is gonna happen happens Ill be growing autos only afterwards. I’ll be logging my progress In my thread so drop by when I get it going.

Yeah they had questionable GSC advertising I didn’t agree with, also they are behind growdiaries if one didn’t know.

Honestly you don’t know till you try whatever breeder, sweet seeds has been consistent, I just tend to avoid auto “breeders” with traditional strains that are now auto aka White widow, NL, BB, ect ect, I just find those are just out there to grab some of the auto market and not there because they are good as far as plants go.

I sent you a cross of their Tangie (x Spotted Limes). I agree their information on genetics is fishy to say the least. Tangie Auto genetics according to their website is “Tangie Auto”. lol

The plant was OK though. Never had any real Tangie so I don’t know what I might be missing.

Yeah I’ve grown sweet seeds sweet skunk fast version couple years back. Was an excellent grow and outdone my expectations.
I hate seedsman. The photoperiod plants suck balls but I’ve had some mega results with his autos :+1:

Also heres some food for thought.

The trend i see more as of late is for longer timespan autos of say 11-13+ weeks

And rightful reason when looking at your general grower, as inorder to extract good yields out of an actual quick auto of say 8-9.5weeks you have to be dialed somewhat in otherwise and hiccups can cause low yields in the end as you just dont have the time.

Throw in a longer span auto and for growers that may have some decent bumps or two along the away it allows them to finish out with good yields, and for those that have the space and time and skill/luck to grow well they can get stellar yields off them.

If i had larger spaces and had the patience some longer time span autos would definitely be something to consider.

My issue is I’m always too busy to put the time into my plants that most people here on OG do. Autos I don’t have to worry about light schedule so I can feed when I’ve got the time to. They don’t feed as heavy and grow without messing about. The potency is on par now with photos. Now they can also yield same if not more than photos.

exactly, i find potency is there and even if it wasn’t smoke 10-15% more, and light schedule is a big thing for some whether grow related or say actual ability to tend to their plants when the lights are still on, and i fully believe they out yield timespan wise forsure, energy input wise they are on par

Hence my January experiment. :+1:
This photo grow I ended up with a mega zink issue and it effected my plants bad. Not keeping ontop of my pH pen was the main issue though to be honest.
I work 7 till 5pm 6 days a week. When I get home I just want to shower, eat then sleep. My plants have suffered because of it. Something as simple as reconfiguring my pH meter has caused me a lot of loss yield wise. With autos I can stick my head into the tent even in the dark, shine a light on the plants and see if I have any issues happening then figure out a plan up that’s within a 24 hour period instead of a 12.

Shuffled some things around, waiting on seeds to ripen, waiting on pollen, and youngest plants starting to go.

I remember how Autos were criticized in the early days, watching yours makes me think how wrong were all those people, you have brought them to a heavenly level … beer3|nullxnull

Most of the early attempts that appeared after lowryder were like smoking old rope. Strong tarry taste from the ruderalis which to be fair can happen in photo strains sometimes. The best auto strains I’ve recently come across have only just enough rudy genetics to autoflower. Some state less than 1%.

I was convinced when i couldn’t tell the difference between the auto and photo versions of sugar black rose

Day 58/48/20

Light defoliation off the older plants, back right plant kinda went dry due to a clogged nozzle though is fine.

Young ones are growing removed two this morning, and need to start attempting to collect pollen.
